"How long do you think it will take?" said Madison.
"I don't know", said Pauline. She was practically vibrating with excitement. "It said the changes will be mental too so I don't think he'll notice".
"Are you two going to stare at me like that all day, or are you going to get unpacked?" grumbled Mr. Cameron.
"Yessir!" said the two girls in unison.
Mr. Cameron went back to pulling his shirts out and arranging them neatly in the closet, unaware that, attached to his back, the AR patch was doing its work. As the years were slowly drained from him, he found himself standing straighter, moving faster, even humming a little to himself as he tidied up his clothes.
"I feel better than usual", he thought to himself with a smile as the wrinkles around his mouth faded and a shade of brown started returning to his hair. "Must be the sea air".
He adjusted his belt. His pants seemed looser on him than usual. Must have lost weight recently too. Not bad. He turned around to look at his charges and found them staring at him, eyes wide as saucers.
Mr. Cameron chuckled. "What's the matter? You look like you've seen a ghost", he said cheerfully.
"Nothing", said Madison quickly.
"Nothing at all", added Pauline, starting to pull clothes out of her suitcase while trying to keep an eye on their teacher.
"Huh. You two are acting a bit weird today", said Mr. Cameron with a shrug as he went back to his suitcase. His wrinkles and stubble had vanished, leaving his skin smooth and clear. His clothes were fitting oddly on him, sagging as he lost the slight beer gut and tightening as his shoulders and arms regained their muscle definition from his athletic days. His hair was now a healthy dark brown and was starting to lengthen, becoming messier.
"He's got to be in his thirties now", whispered Pauline as Mr. Cameron looked down at himself, a bit confused as to why he packed ill-fitting clothes.
"It's like he's a completely different person", said Madison. "I like him better like this honestly".
"Think we should take the patch off now then? Or..." Pauline grinned mischievously. "... or see how far we can go?"
