Leks knew he should be furious. First, he had been reduced from a grown man to child. Then, he was reduced to a foal too young to be weaned! And the second time, that had been against his will! But keeping his anger in check were feelings of safety and happiness. He was content to be by Ladybug's side, nursing from her while she grazed. She made him feel safe and warm and loved. She must have done something to bond the two of them as mother and child. That was the only explanation for the instincts and emotions he felt welling up within him.
"Yes, drink, my colt," Ladybug whinnied happily. Leks did so eagerly, Ladybug's sweet, warm milk flowing into his hungry belly. He viewed her as his Mother. He would stay with her until she weaned him and sent him away. She would keep him safe. Eventually, he had his fill. He emerged from underneath her.
"Mother, where are we going?" he whinnied. Ladybug nuzzled him, cooing and fussing softly.
"Do not worry your little head, my foal," she replied.
"But I need to know." Leks could feel himself getting agitated, though even that was subdued by the comfort he felt by his Mother's side.
"You are so precocious!" Ladybug said with a laugh. "My child, I will take you somewhere even safer than this place. But first, let me show you how to use your magic to run even faster. Then we will arrive before you know it!" Leks listened obediently to Ladybug's instructions. Luckily, he had always been a fast learner. In a matter of minutes, they were off, running like the wind thanks to their magic. Leks's eyes widened as they neared their destination...
