"We need to check whether any of these horses, particularly the mares, are really humans. The new King has been flooding the breeding pool with poor transformed humans." The man called over a group of blond-haired people. "You know the drill! Check each and every one! If there are any that are truly human, bring them to the special stable."
The blond humans made their way through the herd, examining every single horse. To Rainstorm's surprise, all of the Copperstone mares from the school were led away. As was the former breeder. A few stallions and other mares were also taken out of the herd. A blond female human got to Rainstorm. Rainstorm shivered as she felt a sensation like she was being placed underneath a very heavy blanket.
"Another human. Come with me, miss." Rainstorm whinnied in panic at Mayfly and Wildfire as the human tried to lead her away. She resisted her, trying to stay with her mate and foal. "Great."
"What is the problem, Maleah?" asked the man running the farm.
"This one is a human, but she has a foal with her. And it appears that Wildfire has dominated her."
"Wildfire, I told you not to do that until you could be certain you were mating with an actual mare," the man scolded Rainstorm's mate. Wildfire merely looked smugly at him. "Ugh. Leave her be for now. We will have to untangle her mess later. The other humans need our attention immediately." Maleah left Rainstorm alone. Rainstorm hurried back to her mate and foal. Wildfire, as though proving some sort of point, mounted her immediately. Once he finished with her, Mayfly ducked her head underneath Rainstorm to hungrily nurse from her.
Rainstorm sighed in relief to be back with her family. She would never let herself be separated from them.
