"Oh shit!" Anna swore then said to Mark quietly "Find somewhere to hide. I'll stall her until you look human. Remember you are now Jennifer"
Mark had explored the shed the previous night and quickly moved to a dark corner where he covered hid still hairy body behind a pile of life jackets
"Anna! I know you are in there! Let me in"
"Who's there" Anna asked pretending to not recognise Kylie's voice.
"It's me, Kylie. I followed you from our room. I knew you were up to something. What are you hiding? Who were you talking to?"
"How do I know you are Kylie? You could be anyone"
"Because you told me some cock and bull story when you snuck back into our room last night. You told me you had snuck into town, but now I know you just came down here. Why did you lie to me? I thought we were friends"
"We are friends...... It's just that...... I don't want to say..... Trust me you don't want to come in here"
"Who is in there with you? I thought you must have smuggled a boy into camp? But I heard a girl talking with you. Who is it?"
Anna tried to think of an excuse to keep Kylie from entering the shed. She decided to stay as close to the truth as possible "It's my friend Jennifer. She had a hair disaster yesterday. We are trying to fix it before anyone else sees her"
"Let me help. I've had plenty of experience with hair disasters. What's the problem? A poor cut or a dye job gone wrong?"
"You could say a combination of both. I tell you what. How about you go back to our room and fetch my toiletries bag. That would be a great help. I should have thought to bring it down myself"
"Hmmm" Kylie pouted "Only if you promise to let me in when I return"
"I promise" Anna quickly replied. She figured it would take Kylie 15 minutes to get to their room and back. By then Mark should at least look human, even if her change wasn't totally complete.
"Okay. I can do that" replied Kylie. She was still a bit miffed that Anna was not opening the door, but she really did understand about hair disasters. No doubt it was Jennifer forcing Anna to keep the door closed.
Anna was relieved to hears the sound of Kylie's footsteps on the gravel track gradually fading as she walked away.
When she thought it was safe she called to Mark "I think you can come out now. It will be a quarter hour before she returns"
"That was quick thinking" replied Mark, immediately noticing that his voice had changed. "I sound like you friend"
"You sure do" replied Anna, truthfully, as she looked towards the back of the shed where the voice had come from. But then the former Mark emerged from the shadows. The girl her former boyfriend was now changing into clearly wasn't the tall redhead from last night. Instead it seemed Mark was becoming a short brunette. The change was not complete but Anna was fairly certain about who Mark was becoming. Someone who Anna knew quite well
