Once she was done shaking her tail feathers, Mary looked up to the window. Look up... That wasn't something she would think about. But that was because she was steadily shrinking as the window was getting farther and farther from her reach. She knows deep down that if she flies to the window, she can leave this strange room she was on. With her deformed inhuman arms, she doesn't have the wingspan necessary to fly out of this trapped room. So all she had to do is look up and wait to feel her wings emerging.
As she was starring at the window that seemed to get farther and farther away, her legs were getting a little tired. At first, Mary thought she was standing looking at the window for too long and she was getting cramped. But the longer she stand, the more painful it felt. Looking down, she wondered what was happening to her legs, which were the only one that were human. What she saw shocked her as she cawed in surprise.
Looking at her feet, she noticed that they were slowly shifting. She could see four of her toes extending longer while her toe nails popped off while tiny black talons grew in. At the same time, both of her pinkie toe were shrinking into her skin and became non existent. She could also see her young womanly legs where thinning and were starting to get darker. Looking at her changing feet and legs, Mary realized that she was going to get the legs of a bird. Lifting her leg up, she watches her dainty feet becoming more and more freaky.
She could see her toes are just as long as her fingers as she started to flex them in fascination while the talons were getting longer and pointier. She even notice that the thinning and darkening legs gaining little indented lines on the skin. Mary looked on in astonishment as she could see her feet becoming talons right in front of her. She cannot wait to used them to latch on to branches and concrete. After all, that's what birds do and she is a bird. Or was she human? I was confusing for Mary to understand as she was loosing more and more of her human mentality as instincts of a raven was taking over her head. But it didn't matter to her, as this is just what she wants. To become a wild Raven and is accepting it.
As she was watching her deforming feet, she could see something even more odd. Looking at her toes, she noticed is one of the toes that used to have been her big toe was moving further away from the others, repositioning itself to the to back of her foot. The other three soon spread apart of each other and made it look like bird feet then human feet. As soon as she saw her fully formed talons, she heard two cracks on her knees, forcing her now thin legs to go permanently straight. She almost lost her balance before she can drop her talon to the floor and regained her composure. Looking down, she could see that her once shapely legs have now become a pair thin and dark gray bird legs on her human body covered in black feathers.
Mary was a little disoriented with the whole change as she was trying to adjust walking with a pair of bird legs. Taking one step at a time, she finds it a little alien in walking about with those legs. Yet as the same time, it all felt familiar to her as her mind was going blanker and blanker as her human mind was taking a backseat while the raven side is taking over. But Mary doesn't care for it at all as all she wanted to do is to fly. And while she has the beak, tail, legs, and feet, she still lack the wings to actually fly out of this strange prison she is in for some reason. All she had to do is wait until the moment comes and with a couple of more minutes left, she knew that it will be a matter of time.
