“Well, we can’t just go back to shore, we’ve got to get out to sea.” Amber replied as she pulled up on the opposite side of the buoy.
“Why not?” Asked Susan, the third of the trio to surface above the water and let the waves carry her body. “We’ve been given a real gift, haven’t we? It’s on us to share it as much as we can.”
“Sure, but we’ve got bigger fish to fry first.” Said Matt, cut off by Amber and Susan’s giggling.
“Poor choice of words, sure, but I mean it. We’ve got to get shelter, food, maybe try to link up with some other merfolk.” Said Matt
“Plus I don’t want to get scooped up by the government.” Added Amber.
Susan interjected. “Let’s go find some of the stragglers then. There were a lot of mers with no idea what was happening down there.”
“Safety in numbers.” Matt replied.
“A new pod starting from us!” Susan grinned. “Imagine that! What do you think Matt? Amber?”
“I think I’m Melina now, but yeah, sounds like a plan.” She nodded.
“Wonderful.” Said Susan before planting a kiss on both of her lovers. “Let’s go meet the neighbors.”
