Tim clicked on the word "suspiciously" and replaced it with "satisfied" and pressed save. Mr. Lindsey's brooding look at Timothy had softened a bit. Becka was not in a mood to be attentive, and engaged her father in some conversation about why he brings her. Another sentence popped up on the phone.
"Becka has difficulty focusing on academic coursework, because she is not interested in studying."
"One word is not enough on that one," Tim thought. Mr. Lindsey watched as his daughter paraded around her room doing silly things to avoid working with Tim. Tim slid his phone back in his pocket and tried to get control of the room. Mr. Lindsey went back downstairs after Becka sat at the desk with Tim and at least appeared to be interested. Tim slid the graded biology quiz over to Becka, "We covered this last time and you did well. Walk me through these questions, you had this."
Becka sighed and started by reading the first question, then her correct answer. This went until question five, where she missed the entire answer. As Becka was talking, Tim slid the phone from his pocket, and a new sentence had appeared,
"Becka shares a strong desire to do well, but is too lazy to put in the effort in her studies."
Tim changed the word "lazy" to "fast" and hit save. A new sentence immediately appeared,
"Becka speeds through her studies and does not retain the material."
Tim changed "not" to "completely", promptly hitting the save button. Becka was silent as she was stopped talking about how her wrong answer for question five was right and the teacher was wrong.
Becka's face saddened in regret, "Oh my....why would I put that...it is obviously wrong. I'm sorry Tim. This is unacceptable." Becka took a pencil and spent a few moments correcting her answers with the correct ones. "Sometimes, I read different things, but I remember them so vividly and exactly that I miss the point that some of what I read is wrong," Becka explained, very frustrated.
Tim slid over the biology homework that she had done earlier, and shook her head. "Tim, let me re-read that chapter, I know I can do better."
Tim slid back from the desk and let Becka go to work. Tim slid out his phone as Mr. Lindsey stopped by to see his daughter working hard at the desk. The sentence Tim saw on his phone now read,
"Mr. Lindsey respects Tim's handling of his daughter's studies."
