All three paused as their stomachs collectively growled. They could figure this out in a moment, right now they were starving. Thankfully, they realized that at this age they were on the schools meal plan.
Making their way to the dining hall, the trio entered, scanning the large cafeteria. Several large tables were laid out, Hannah's mouth salivating at the smells. It appeared to be be pancake day, the 20 year old brunette fondly remembering how good the schools pancakes were. Shaking her head, she tried to focus. That was half the problem when she was trying to get in shape. Hannah's diet back then wasn't helpful in losing weight. All the exercise in the world couldn't compete when she shoveled down a mountain of syrup soaked pancakes. Sighing in annoyance, she made her way towards the the food bar. Scooping egg whites and fruit on to her plate, she grabbed a cup of black coffee and OJ before sitting down.
"What's wrong," Claire asked as she began eating some parfate. "It's pancake day," Hannah moaned, shoveling eggs into her mouth. "I loved pancakes but if I'm going to get fit again I have to watch my diet." Claire shrugged, offering a small apology as the girls began to eat.
As Hannah, Claire, and Leslie began to talk, they realized the dire situation they were in. "Are you two sure you don't have a car," Leslie asked. Claire and Hannah nodded, they checked their room and Keychain. No car keys to speak of. "What about renting a car," Leslie asked.
"You have to be 25 to rent a car," Claire stated. "And none of us are old enough to do that now."
"What about asking a friend," Leslie asked. "Who do we know that would lend us a car," Hannah replied. Rubbing her chin, she attempted to think as she sipped her coffee. "What about a bus? There's a bus that leaves the Student Union regularly."
"We'd have to check the bus schedule," Claire replied. "But even then, what are the chances of finding a bus that would take us across the state? Chances are we would have to transfer busses. It's risky."
"Guess that eliminates Uber then," Leslie shrugged. "Unless we have alot of money in our bank accounts." Claire and Hannah nodded, they weren't quite sure how much money they had. If the world changed this much, were they broke college students again? Leslie now gave the pair an anxious look. She had an idea, just not a good one. "What if we use the watch and become high schoolers?"
"You can't be serious," Claire exclaimed.
"Just hear me out first," Leslie stated. "We all had cars when we were Seniors in high school. What if we use the watch to become 17 again?"
"One small problem," Claire stated. "Hannah and I didn't go to the same high school. In fact, we didn't even know eachother until we roomed together Freshman year. Yeah, you and Hannah went to the same high school but what happens to me?"
"Claire's right," Hannah added. "It's kind of risky. Besides what happens to us? Would we vanish and find ourselves in our parents house? Would we still remember Claire?"
"We've remembered everything so far," Leslie stated. "The world changed but we didn't."
"True," Hannah replied. "But we're talking becoming teenagers. Kids! I really have no desire to be back in a school uniform. You remember how ugly those skirts and blouses were back in the day." Leslie shuddered, she certainly remembered the school uniform from their high school days at their private high school. Needless to say, she was not looking forward to possibly reliving that time.
"Not to mention we don't know if this watch can be reversed," Claire added. "What happens if we become 17 years old again and we're stuck growing up all over again? Sure, Senior Year is a blast but it's freaking high school again."
Hannah, Claire, and Leslie now weighed their options. A bus, an Uber, or a trip further back in age. Needless to say, their options were far from ideal. Still, if they wanted any chance of regaining their old lives, they would need to make a choice.
