Tim sat up, deciding to call Sarah and let her visit him. He knew that he needed to talk to his friends, but he needed to see his girlfriend first.
Tim said a few sentences to himself, getting used to his voice which was mostly the same except for a slight echo. He was relieved that he could speak.
Tim picked up the phone, and he dialled Sarah's number.
A couple of rings later and she answered.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Sarah it's me, Tim." Tim spoke into the phone.
"Tim? Oh thank goodness, how are you?"
"I'm alright, would you like to visit me? The doctors say that I'm well enough."
"Of course, I can. I'll be right there!"
"Okay, bye."
Tim put the phone down, and he took a few deep breaths.
He had a lot to discuss with Sarah. After all it's been a few months since they last met.
Tim was nervous, sitting on his bed, waiting for Sarah to arrive. He heard the door open, and he turned around and saw her walk in.
Sarah looked stunning, as she always did. Her blonde hair was tied back in a ponytail. Her face was pale white, and she was wearing a bright red tank top, and a pair of dark blue shorts, showing her toned legs.
Tim stood up and walked towards her.
"Good morning Sarah." Tim smiled at her happily.
"Tim? Is that you?" She looked shocked, and she stared at him.
"Yeah, it's me." Tim replied, feeling nervous.
"You look...different."
"Yeah, the doctors did that, it's a long story."
"Oh, wow, I'm so sorry."
"It's fine, I'll get used to it. Anyway, how's the world been without me there? How's school?"
"School is good, though some people miss you. But things have been pretty normal. Oh, I've started volunteering at the animal shelter. I think you'd really like it."
"That's great." Tim said, smiling. "Well, I've missed a lot, so why don't you catch me up?"
"Sure thing."
They sat down on the bed, and talked for several hours, catching up on what had happened during the past few months. The only time they stopped talking was when lunch arrived. After lunch, they continued to talk. Tim told Sarah about the accident and the experimental surgery, and what he had been through.
"Wow, that's a lot to take in." Sarah said amazed at hearing it.
"Yeah, it's a bit strange, but I'm slowly adjusting."
Sarah replied saying "I know we can adjust our lives together. I know this will be difficult but I will always be there for you Tim, no matter what." She smiled at him.
"Thanks Sarah, I appreciate that."
Tim looked at the clock, realising that it was now late afternoon.
"Looks like your visit time is almost up." Tim said.
"Yeah, it has been great to see you again Tim." She smiled at him.
Tim leaned over and kissed Sarah on the cheek.
Sarah shivered at the kiss, surprised by how different it felt. Blushing, she flicked her hair away from her eyes, kissing him back on the cheek before leaving the room.
Tim was left alone, thinking about Sarah.
