"Hey, everybody, it's the Quasi-Raccoon Cuties again! And we're giving you a look at what you can find on Ishinowa Island!" The three of them had clearly dressed up for the occasion, wearing what could be called cavegirl outfits. Which pretty much meant bikinis made out of faux fur. Date was wearing more of a skirt than the other two, due to hir extra endowments.
"So Ishinowa, which basically means 'stone blade', is the Dinotopian colony of the Heiya prefecture," said Tani before spinning the camera around to show a basic look of the island. What was obvious was all the black sand, rocky hills, and rugged mountains that made up the island. "As you can see, this place isn't exactly the tropical getaway that Ao Guang Island is. Though it's not as unlivable as it looks."
"After all, Dinotopians are rather hardy and they can live in tough conditions," said Naya, "This island is mostly meant to be a residential area for Asian Dinotopians. So let's take a look at where their main settlement is."
==========
Some people may have expected the Dinotopian settlement to be mainly in caves or in stone houses similar to Dinosaur City. Instead, they mostly saw a village built in an ancient aesthetic, with huts large enough for Dinotopians. Though the huts were a lot more comfortable inside than they appeared on the outside.
"Well, this is probably not what a lot of viewers were expecting," said Naya, "Kumiyo, would you care to explain the significance of this aesthetic?"
"The main source is from the villages of the Ainu people," said Kumiyo, "They were the first settlers of Hokkaido, having lived there long before the Japanese people from the main islands arrived. Hokkaido was considered an untamed frontier to them."
"So I guess that would fit the stone age theme of the other Dinotopian colonies," said Naya.
"I wouldn't say 'stone age'," said Kumiyo, "Hokkaido started to be colonized by the Japanese in the 17th century. By our standards this is more like a...what do Europeans and Americans call those places where they like they're in a medieval period?"
"Renaissance fairs?" asked Naya.
"Maybe not an exact equivalent," admitted Kumiyo, "But I think it's a good compromise to showing an ancient lifestyle and incorporating Japanese history."
"Well, what about visitors or other residents who'd prefer a more modern place to stay?" asked Naya.
"Oh, we've got a hotel on the north side of the island," said Kumiyo, "We're not savages out here."
==========
"As you may recall, the Dragon King's Palace two dragons, though they're often associated with each other," said Tani, "The island itself is named after Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea. It also associated with the Azure Dragon who guards over the east. There are three other heavenly beasts for the remaining cardinal points. So here in the north, we have the Turtle Chief's Palace."
The Palace was clearly still under construction. It looked like it was going to be a large convention center that was built into and as an extension of the cliffs on the northern side of the island. And it was clearly designed to be shaped like at least the front half of an enormous turtle facing northwards. It also looked like some additional structure was going to be built on top of its shell, possibly as a reference to the many legends of turtle islands or world turtles in many mythologies.
"First off, I know some people were expecting to be the Turtle Prince's Palace, but this was reconsidered after reflecting that 'prince' doesn't hold the same rank of power as 'king', 'queen', and 'lord'. Speaking of which, possible locations for the Phoenix Queen and Tiger Lord Palaces are still underway. While the Phoenix Queen is most likely going to be situated in the South China Sea, the Tiger Lord is now looking to be placed in the Indian Ocean. Which would mean the colony's ownership will be mainly under Indian sovereignty. Considering how remote the City of Kings is, this could allow Animalians to have much easier access to India. Of course, suitable islands for both have still yet to be determined."

In sharp contrast, the southern beach was more remote and exclusive. This allowed the Dinotopian residents to have a clothing-optional beach. Date was unsurprisingly the one to cover this beach, hir exposure only being available on the premium page of the Animalian website. However, several viewers complained that the footage was a ripoff. While there were Dinotopian women in the footage, they were all wearing pasties that matched the color of their scales, feathers, or pycnofibers. Even Date wore a pair over hir own nipples. And the Animalians seen on screen were also wearing loincloths so it was more accurate to say this was a topless beach. Which wasn't strictly true, but the residents weren't about to expose their entire bodies to the internet.
