The first morning of impulses began fairly normally. Jen had cried herself to sleep the night before and woken up convinced, at first, that it had all been a bad dream. And at first it seemed that, Jen woke up feeling really good. But only for a moment. Once she got a look at her kennel, she wanted to cry again.
"I don't deserve this." Jen whined, whispering as quiet as she could. She was worried she'd get zapped again if they heard her talk or saw her stand on two legs. Jen wasn't sure what they could see or where the cameras were, but they were here. Jen glanced around. The cage door was locked. There were two sets of dog bowls, both full of food and water.
Jen was thirsty, but she was determined not to drink from a bowl. She wasn't an animal. And she wasn't going to act like one. Rex, waking up shortly after, came over to his owner/mate. Rex wagged his tail. Jen smiled. "At least I've got you boy," She said, wiggling her butt to wag the tail. Rex barked and licked Jen. She laughed. Then Jen licked him back.
