Leahala approached the center of the great hall at the base of the tower. Etched in the floor was a giant magical circle carved into the marble with silver that pulsed with a faint purple glint. It housed and contained a massive column of mana pulled from the surrounding leylines which shot up through the length of the tower and out through the roof into the heavens high above. The archmage placed her hand into the column, refilling the reserves of magical energy permeating her own frame.
She looked down to Elisthia who awaited her orders.
“Tell me, friend… do you have a copy of my personal sketchbook to hand?” Leahala asked.
“It seems we do! It looks like it made the trip with you, seeing that you seemed to be holding it when your drawing pulled you over to our side of the veil.” The fox confirmed.
Leahala smiled as she immediately knew what her next step would be. “Spectacular. Elisthia, please go and find it and bring it here to me? I need to prepare a spell in the meantime.”
“Post haste, my lady.” Elisthia sounded off before trotting away.
—————-
Leahala held a large leather-bound tome in the crook of her arm as she focused on drawing a glyph in the air with the graceful twisting and curling of her fingers. Each completed gesture and spoken incantation caused another rune to flash into existence in the skein of magic she was weaving. Concentrating on keeping the tenuous net of mana in place, she floated her instruction book up in the air with a humble arcane hand and began to siphon a flow of magic from the central power source into her spell. With a potent arcane surge the runes burned into the air, and as she’d hoped, a temporary portal back to the real world opened up, about the size and shape of a mail slot. Too small for her to fit, but a small object? That could be done easily.
“Your art book my lady.” Elisthia carried the notebook in her mouth, and set it gently on the floor in front of her.
“Thank you, little one.” Leahala smiled and patted the top of her head.
“What are you thinking, Leahala?” The fox asked as she looked up to her with a glint of curiosity in her eyes.
“Sharing the gift, Elisthia.” She flipped through the pages in her book, page after page of more beautiful elves, and not just elves alone either. There were drawings of some other kinds of fantasy beauties in there as well. allurind Mermaids, seductive Fiends, radiant Angels, fierce Orc warmaidens, there were other options aplenty. But to start, there was one drawing that stood out. As a sorceress, Leahala could do a great deal by herself, but just like ant mortal, no elf was meant to persist alone. She needed friends, confidants, lovers, and at her fingertips was just that opportunity. In particular, she looked upon the image of a bow wielding elf, built more like a track athlete than the Leahala’s more slender build. Her toned body sported supremely thick thighs and strong arms, ideal for climbing trees and running in high tree branches. Her hair was shorter an more squared away, wearing it in a stylish bob cut. Much like Leahala, this elf was proud of her body, and showed it liberally, wearing form fitting leggings and a leather top with an open midriff, complimented by a dramatic flowing hooded cloak.
She knew exactly who it reminded her of, her roommate Jayne. She was more sporty than Leah ever was, but her interests had rubbed off on Jayne. She’d gotten her into her weekly tabletop group, and she seemed to find it endearing when Leah would talk her ear off for hours about her gaming stories. Leahala ripped the page from her book and grinned as she sent the drawing through the portal, back to her dorm room.
The portal remained open, and she glanced down at the rest of her book. “And now… we alter the spell like so, to make sure the rest of these pages find the people who would most enjoy becoming these…” The archmage began ripping page after page from the book, sending each one out onto Earth one at a time until only blank pages were left.
“Most gracious of you to share your dreams my lady… shall I prepare the tower to receive visitors?” Elisthia questioned.
“Yes my friend, best we do.” Leahala nodded.
