The two start heading back home, taking a longer route through the park, Colin finds himself overwhelmed by all the noises and smells, sniffing at everything, he even grabs an old Pizza piece out of a trash can and immediately starts eating it, April just chuckles and shakes her head, “someone’s hungry,” she says.
“Ya, this Pizza is so tasty,” Colin replies, wagging his tail.
“Just be careful that you don’t eat anything bad,” the 10-year-old girl says, “I don’t want my good boy to die”.
“I promise to be careful, mistress,” Colin says.
April smiles, “I know you will, Colin,” she says.
They pass a few people, some with dogs, some without, but everyone stops, smiles and says, “what a cute and handsome dog”. Some of the dogs even seem interested in Colin, sniffing at him, especially his butt, Colin doing the same to the feral dogs, at times even tugging on his leash, signaling that he’d love to play.
April yanks at the leash, “Colin! We don’t have time,” she says firmly, “I promise next time you’ll be able to play with your new friends”.
Colin lets out a whine and tucks his tail between his legs, but doesn’t protest and soon they arrive back home.
“Now, you go get some rest,” April says, after letting Colin off his leash, “I have to check on Jeff”. Colin nods and heads up into his room, then curling into a ball on his bed, falling asleep, while April heads directly to Jeff’s room, smiling when she sees Jeff just waking up, “is my baby hungry,” she asks.
“Ma-ma,” Jeff says, pointing at April.
“Yes, baby,” April says, smiling, “I’m your ma-ma, and I am here to feed you,” the girl already taking of her shirt and bra, then sits down on Jeff’s chair, “come here, Jeffy”.
