The first Monday of September was not only celebrated as Labor Day (and therefore worthy of a day off of work, though not in all workplaces), but also vilified (after a fashion) for being the official end of summer vacation and heading back to school. However, with the last day of August landing on a Saturday, Labor Day would be extended to a three-day weekend. But sometimes this would cause some other things to happen.

The biggest thing to happen during this time was Ao Guang Island's Retreat to Beat the Heat. One indirect result of its announcement was the large number of lewd/inappropriate comments on what was going to be there, but most of those were nothing more than internet rumor at most. Another thing was that, once it was announced that most of the people participating were Chinese, Japanese, and Korean women between 30 and 60, was the number of comments by so-called "internet activists", but almost all of their attempts were failing in various ways, either by falling short of their petition goals, or getting exposed as hypocrites.
Another indirect consequence actually came from a different thing. The most recent member of Operation Lotus Blossoms (originally Operation Lotus Feet) was a 90+ year old man who was also suffering from Advanced Alzheimer's disease. He had gotten a Komodo dragon double dose and ended up as an enormous, massively muscular Komodo dragon Animalian. Like Chester Rubbins, however, most of his memories were wiped, and his immense age led to him getting hit hard by "Frat Boy Syndrome" (as the male equivalent of RHS was called, at least online). One really unusual side effect of his conversion was his scales coming in more blue-green than regular Komodo dragon scales. "The Azure Dragon" (his new nickname) didn't mind this, because he did remember holding his namesake in high esteem for some reason, and he didn't mind living at the Azure Dragon's Palace as a form of "living advertising", though he had to wear a special headband (concealed in his now regrown, but still white, hair) in order to have the required "dragon horns" to play the part.
