Queen Aquarius considered her options, she could force the change on those who didn’t want to become her subjects but that was distasteful to her. She wasn’t a human; the humans had hunted down her kind and murdered them so she would rise above that. She could sense through magical means that the love of merfolk was still alive and well within the world. In fact there where millions of people who would likely leave humanity behind and embrace life in the sea without a struggle and with joy in their hearts.
Those were the people she wanted, and those where the people she would have become her subjects.
She opened a portal before her as she swam out of the palace located within the heart of her city only to reappear in a different point on the Earth. She surfaced and spotted a rather beautiful little cove surrounded on three sides with high cliffs. A staircase caved into the rock by human hands lead up toward the top of the cliff. The beach was covered with warm soft sand and while no humans were currently on the beach she could see that it was a popular spot for humans. She saw multiple humans setting up items to enjoy a day at the beach while others had already entered the water.
She dove under the water and began to sing.
Mermaid songs where legendary for luring sailors to their deaths but this song while able to be heard even under the water reached out to every human on the shore. It was an invite to those who deep down in their hearts wanted to either be a mermaid or merman or wanted a fresh start in life. It wouldn’t force them to come to her, but she would extend the hand and await those who accepted her offer.
She didn’t have to wait long as she noticed movement coming toward her.
