Susan pulled her car to a stop in front of the large property she had been searching for. The plain woman gazed at the large house looming over the driveway, impressed by the large manor-like abode- she'd had no idea such a wealthy looking home even existed in her quiet, unassuming town, but here it was. She had read online that a reclusive but wealthy older citizen had passed away recently, and their belongings were being sold off to the public. Susan didn't know what to expect, but always loved a good garage sale, so she had made plans to inspect the estate and see what she might be able to get for a good deal. There were already other people meandering around and looking at the goods displayed across the yard, so she would have to hurry; climbing out of her car and stretching her meager frame, she quickly made her way over.
Manning the sale was a tubby, middle aged man in a suit, presumably a lawyer or possibly a relative of the deceased. Noticing Susan he nodded and smiled, causing her to do the same. As she glanced over the many tables and blankets displaying all kinds of knick knacks and goodies, Susan kept an eye open for something of true value. She didn't want just another tchotchke to display in her own home, she wanted something she could use and couldn't find elsewhere. Spying the corner where tables and chairs seemed to be placed, Susan smiled- antique furniture was usually a goldmine of unique treasures. She made her way over, inspecting what she could see as she walked, and nothing much got her attention, until her eyes fell upon a handsome looking wardrobe in the back. Something about it seemed to call to her, and Susan could not help but dash over and inspect it.
The wardrobe stood well over a foot above Susan's head, towering over her. The dark wood of the wardrobe was intricately carved with swirling, flowery designs, almost too pretty for Susan to want to touch. Still, she made herself knock slightly on the door and was pleased by the thick, dense thunk her knuckles made after a light rapping. The wardrobe was sturdy, likely over half a century old if the build quality was anything to go by. Excited, Susan grasped the handles and pulled the tall doors of the wardrobe open to see how large the inside looked, and was surprised to find it still full of clothes. Not so surprising to find clothing in a wardrobe, but Susan was sure they would have emptied the thing before putting it up for sale. Even more odd, upon closer inspection, there seemed to be a a good amount of both men's and women's clothes mixed together...
