Before she could even begin to look through the vials for an antidote there was a knock at her door. Peering out through the curtains, she saw the man from the accident on her front porch, watching as a newly arrived tow truck driver worked to hook up his car.
'What am I going to do?!' thought Mary, starting to panic. 'Even if there is a way to change back, it would probably take too long to work! I need to hide, no, he knows I'm in here... Oh! A disguise!' She trotted to her bedroom on her hoof-like toes, jiggling and bouncing in new places. Quickly grabbing a fluffy robe and belting it around her enlarged figure, she awkwardly slid her feet into her bunny slippers and wrapped a towel around her head. Catching a glimpse in the mirror, she looked like she'd just stepped out of the bath, and almost all of her piggy-attributes were well hidden.
A second knock came at the door just as she spotted a mask on her entry-way table. 'Perfect!' she snorted a sigh of relief as she clumsily fitted it over her snout, making sure her pointed ears were re-hidden beneath the towel. "Just a second!" she called through the door, hiding her right hand in the robe pocket as she reached for the handle with her left. "Did you need something?" she asked the man as she pulled the door open slightly.
"Oh! Hi, um, yeah, well... sorry, but I was expecting the lady who came out earlier when I crashed. She said she'd left something on the stove..." the man was gazing at her quizzically, clearly not recognizing her in the slightest.
'Well at least I don't have to try to explain my changed appearance' Mary thought with relief. "Oh yes, I'm her sister. She's... finishing up cooking right now. We both heard the crash but I was obviously in the shower, so..." she trailed off, waiting for the man to explain what he needed.
