When the two get on the bus, “Judy” immediately feels eyes on her, ‘I am already being checked out by people,’ the boy in disguise thinks to himself, ‘it feels so weird! And a little creepy, I feel really uneasy from the stares… now I know how girls feel when I stare at them. Note to self: stop staring at girls!’
The bus ride however stays uneventful, no one approaches the “girl” and begins asking questions, this causes Jayden to relax a little, as he starts getting used to people staring at him.
When they finally arrive at the Zoo, Lucy and “Judy” pay the entrance fee and start heading for the first exhibit.
“Now I know how girls feel like when boys stare at them,” Jayden says to his sister, “it feels creepy and makes me kind of uneasy. I promise to never stare at a girl ever again!”
Lucy chuckles, “hey, it’s not forbidden to stare,” she says, “yes, it is slightly creepy and uncomfortable, especially when boys stare at “certain” areas, if you get what I mean. But, as long as they don’t start any funny business, there is nothing to worry about. Besides, if a boy should come up to you and start flirting with you, you can tell him that you really are a boy, he’ll hurry away faster than you can look!” The 16-year-old laughs, “because the majority of boys don’t want to come across as gay,” she says, “so, if a “girl” says she is in reality a boy, they WILL run!”
“Judy” laughs herself, “yeah, I totally understand that,” she says, “heck… I’d be running myself if a “girl” would “correct” my mistake!”
As the time ticks by, “Judy” is approached by several boys, who quickly “excuse themselves” once they learn the truth, but some stay a little while longer, expressing their surprise and amazement at how amazing Jayden’s “costume” is. Some boys even tell Jayden how brave he is to be doing the “experiment”, but then Jayden is approached by boys he knows from school, but he quickly comes up with a story: that “she” is the young cousin of Lucy and Jayden, that’s why she resembles both Lucy and Jayden so closely.
By the end of the visit, Jayden feels pretty proud of himself, “I must say, I managed that pretty well, didn’t I?”
Lucy nods, “you did great,” she says.
“Judy” smiles, “it kind of felt nice when some boys complimented me on my “costume” and how brave they thought I am… it makes me feel kind of proud and special”.
Lucy smiles, “and it looks like you are starting enjoying being a girl, hm?”
“Judy” nods, “yeah, I have to admit, it’s really fun,” she says, “I wouldn’t mind becoming “Judy” from time to time and have a “sister outing” with you,” she then adds, smiling up at her sister.
Lucy smiles back, “I’d love that… Judy,” she says, both then giggle, “anyway, it’s time we head to the show,” the 10-year-old “girl” nods and both head to the bus stop to catch the bus that would take them to the location where the magic show is supposed to be.
