There were plenty of things that Oka would rather not think about from her old life. 20 years ago, she made a mistake that left her scarred for life in more ways than one. She still wished fervently that she had never listened to that rapper. She should have known better than bouncing on his hotel bed in a bikini wasn't going to be in a music video. Even if he had paid very handsomely, it was still degrading in hindsight. But the way people reacted to the video when it got posted was worse. She couldn't really blame her brother for cussing her out. Damien always did have a problem with compulsive cussing, but he's gotten better since then.
But Oka's father, that was too much. Yes, any father would be embarrassed to see her daughter in a video like that. But carving up her face was a disciplinary step too far. And Oka had to live with that for 15 years before Animalia gave her the chance to have a face again. True, it was an okapi's face, but it was still better than none. She had long since adjusted to being an Animalian and she had reconnected with Damien, helped him learn better control over his language. Oka was quite content with letting the past remained buried.
But quite unexpectedly, her old past reared its ugly head again. Her father had gotten into trouble with the law, apparently with a traffic violation that escalated with him trying to flee. Though he had a known violent streak, he was not considered criminally insane or psychopathic, so he was eligible to be put in Animalia's four-punishment system. Oka...didn't receive the news very well.

"ARE YOU %$&@ING INSANE?! DO YOU THINK THAT #%#$ IS WORTH &#$@ING AND LETTING HIM LEAVE ANYWHERE %$&@ING NEAR HERE?!" yelled Oka.
"Oka, language," said Damien mildly.
"OH DON'T YOU GET STARTED, YOU-" Oka stopped and took in a deep breath before saying, "But you have to agree, he doesn't deserve another chance."
"I understand why you feel this way," said Dr. Jones, "And you certainly have the right to feel upset. Though from your father's psychiatric profile, I do not believe he is irredeemable."
"Take a look at what my face used to before saying he can redeemed," said Oka hotly.
"Surely your father wasn't always that bad before he saw that video," said Dr. Jones.
"Pops was kinda strict on us," said Damian, "I guess that's why me and Oka acted out like we did."
"Well, this is the opportunity for him to learn that he was wrong and that he can start making amends. And this is a good way for you to overcome your trauma as well," said Dr. Jones.
"All I know is that I don't want to see him, whatever he becomes," said Oka.
"What is he becoming?" asked Damian.
"I understand he wants to be a predator cat," started Dr. Jones.
"Absolutely not!" snapped Oka, "I don't want him to become a predator, let alone my natural predator!"
"I can have Horizon Labs deny him a leopard conversion," said Dr. Jones, "And I know lion is not considered an option because of the surplus we already have."
"Maybe a smaller cat. A bobcat would be more his style," said Damian, "Or a lynx."
"Bobcats are a kind of lynx," said Oka.
"Oh, I didn't know that," said Damian.
"Well, whatever kind of cat he is, I want him far away from me," said Oka.
"Oka, would you like to resume psychiatric therapy?" asked Dr. Jones.
"I thought you said I was cured," said Oka.
"Sometimes a sudden shock can cause a relapse, which seems to be the case that I'm looking at," said Dr. Jones.
Oka sighed and said, "I suppose if it would help."
