The drive went smoothly as she had no difficulties acting like an adult as people around her didn't care. As she parked to the nearby parking lot. She tried to read the list once more but found it super difficult. After the first line of text she just gave up and decided to just ask someone else to read it out for her.
She took the card keys, closed the door and locked. Lastly she pocketed the keys on her left side short short's pocket and proceeded to walk inside the supermarket while wearing the sunglasses as a disguise. There could have been a high chance for grandma Mary seeing her and she didn't want to bump into her right now. On her way to the supermarket she noticed a lanky looking nerd around her age and cheerfully walked next to her asking if he could read the paper for her.
"Huh...? Yeah sure I- Wait minute..." The boy stood there and stared at Jennifer for a long while. "No way... Is it truly the one and only Jennifer Smith in front of me?"
Jennifer was shocked to hear her name from his mouth. How did he know her and if he did, how much.
"Uhmm... No... Uhmm..." Jennifer had to be polite and truthfully told him that he was Jennifer but asked him how he knew who she was.
"Even if you look a bit different I remeber how you used to look when you went to school." The boy explained. "Having difficulties to remember who I am?"
Jennifer could only shake her head as she had no idea who this boy was. She had to know more as her mother would be furious if a random boy knew about her life more than she did. The boy mentioned the school but Jennifer was sure she never had gone to school in her lifetime but were instead living her mother all this time.
"It's been over a week since we talked but now that we can talk face to face. I think we should make couple of things clear." The boy gave a devious smile. "I'm your boyfriend and you've secretly dated me for past year or two."
Jennifer was puzzled. That had to be the biggest and fattest lie she could have heard. There's no way that this boy knew nothing about her personal life and her life situation.
"Oh, and please do tell me 'my prince charming'. How can't I remember your name?" Jennifer quickly snapped back him like it felt natural somehow.
Around this boy she felt more stronger than ever and more dominant. This little boy was just a coward who would just tell lies.
"Tsk tsk, little lady. Already forgetting the fact that being rude to other makes you younger?" The boy laughed and hissed like a snake.
In that same second Jennifer tried to say that she didn't mean it and told the boy that she didn't know why she said the things to him.
"And... I'm not forgiving you... unless..." The boy quickly yoinked the fat wallet from her pocket that her mother had given to her. "Oohh boy, that's a lot of money for a 14-year-old. Care to explain how you got this? Stealing? Robbery? Or maybe something-"
"STOP!" Jennifer yelled which made everybody turn their head on them.
The boy dropped the wallet and sprinted out of the store. Jennifer knew now that this boy was the cause of her misery and she begun to weep in the middle of the supermarket as supermarket's security guards came to ask how was she doing.
"Oh i'm-sorry-i'm-sorry-i'm-sorry. Mommy's going to be so mad if she finds out about this. I- I- I need to finish my shopping before I mess up again and- and-" Jennifer was bawling the entire time and the supermarket guards tried to lift her up.
"Uhmm, Miss Silvia." One of the guards said as she handed the wallet back to Jennifer. "We advice you to shop elsewhere as you are disturbing the other customers with your behaviour. If you are not willing to leave we are required to call police."
Jennifer started to nod franticly as she carefully and slowly exited the supermarket all by herself. Tears running down her eyes as the security guards escorted her peacefully to the front gates. In her devasted mood she walked back to the car and went inside to mope. She could drive and find an another supermarket but it would take longer as she had no idea where something like that was. Jennifer had only visited this supermarket with her mother and didn't know the town too well. She also certain that how she looked they would also kick them out of there too.
And all of this because of that one boy who she only now knew by face. That face was getting imprinted in her mind as a-boy-cursed-her. The sadness turned into anger as she shouted and threw a tantrum inside the car. There was no one to witness this but she was certain that the whole day was ruined because of that boy. Which means tomorrow she'll be year younger.
Jennifer had a choice to make as she sat on the driver's seat eyes red and tears drying on her cheek. Only sunshine being the spared wallet she still had in her short short's pocket.
