"Elise Montague," Rita says. "She's a stay-at-home mom to her five kids. And right now, she's watching her two-year-old niece, Lizzy."
"Is she the best choice, if she's already babysitting?" Leah asks. She grunts, pushing another stubborn log out.
"Oh, yes," Rita says firmly. "I have no idea how that woman does it, but she is always on top of things. Even when her kids were all under five, the house was clean, the kids were great, and she looked amazing. Elise is a supermom. And she'll know just how to take care of a little potty pants girl like you."
Rita holds her phone up to her ear.
"Elise! I was wondering..." Rita walks away to talk to Mrs. Montague. Leah continues to push poop into her diaper. When, finally, things stop coming out of her, she straightens with a sigh. Only to feel drops of liquid on her feet. She looks down and yelps. Her diaper is leaking! Apparently, there is a limit to how much it can be filled.
Rita comes back, takes stock of the situation (the wet through Leah's clothes is obvious), and changes gears immediately. Soon, Leah finds herself in the tub, being washed by Rita.
"I can wash myself!" Leah whines. Rita scrubs her hair with baby shampoo.
"I'm just getting you used to what it'll be like when Mrs. Montague watches you."
"Ugh." Leah scowls. "What time is she coming over tomorrow?"
"Actually, you'll be going over there. Elise says Lizzy wouldn't enjoy her time over here. Not to mention, three of her five aren't in school yet, so she has to watch them. And my home isn't baby proofed."
Leah sulks as Rita finishes cleaning her and tapes a fresh diaper onto her. Great. She's actually going to the babysitter's house! Things couldn't get worse!
But they do.
