"Okay, I wish you'll have a safe and pleasant day," I said. "No need to let you get into trouble without me."
"See you later," said Amanda. She blew me a kiss on the way out the door. My heart skipped a beat, not for the first time around her.
For a moment I wasn't sure what to do with myself. Then I looked at the aquarium/swimming pool and, remembering the fun we had there, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
"I wish I was invisible and at the mall." Suddenly it was so. I made my way into a department store and found the women's swimwear. I browsed the racks until I found what I wanted: a bikini that looked a bit like Amanda's.
"I wish this bikini would turn whoever wore it into a mermaid, only physically, only when wet, and only until taken off." There! The idea of someone discovering this power by accident thrilled me. I didn't want it to hurt them, though, so it was reversible.
"As long as I'm here..." I said to myself. I found a nice one-piece suit and said, "I wish this bathing suit would turn its wearer into a 17-year-old version of herself, until removed."
That was about it for swimwear. I wandered the mall for a bit until I saw another store's display of evening gowns. One dress looked particularly nice, being the kind that leaves the back bare almost down to the waist. That would be convenient for some body types... "I wish the wearer of that dress would sprout angelic wings from her back." And why obey the laws of aerodynamics? "Also, I wish she could fly with them."
