What better way to ease someone into baby-ish behaviors than nostalgia? Leah loves her teen dramas, but avoids cartoons like the plague. One of the triggers makes them have a desire to watch more childish things, so why not start with maybe an old movie she liked when she was young?
"Hey Leah, do you want to watch something with me tonight?" Tina called up.
"Oh, umm...I don't know. I'm kind of tired..." Tina frowned. Right, a teenager won't just WANT to spend time with her. She might have to cheat.
"You can choose the movie, *ippsypop*. Plus, I have *strawberry* cookies!"
"O-oh, umm...give me a second, I'll be right down." Tina smiled widely. A trigger to incite a sweet tooth, mixed with the happy trigger, worked just as planned. She opened their Fetnlix account, and intentionally left the selection screen on classics---one classic was an old cartoon movie Leah might've watched. When Leah came down, she immediately ran for the cookies and started munching on one.
"Alright, select whatever movie you want, Leah. A little *neon uplift* plus *strawberry* cookies ought to cheer you up."
She saw Leah's pupils dilate as she turned to the screen. She gasped, letting some cookie out of her mouth.
"Leah, chew with your mouth closed."
"Oops, sorry!" The girl swallowed with an embarrassed smile, "Umm...do you mind if we watch that one?" To Tina's delight, she points to the cartoon one, "I, uh, haven't watched that since I was a kid, but I think it could be fun."
The movie looked like a classic with a darker edge, clearly a film meant for kids and adults alike; Leah's insecurities around seeming childish were truly invasive. It made Tina want to rain down triggers to make her forget them, but she knew that wouldn't solve the problem. She needed to take things slow. She smiled.
"I said you could pick the film. It's not so bad to be a little childish once in a while, especially not with *strawberry* cookies."
Leah looked to be about to protest, but once again her pupils dilated and her brow furrowed in conflict; hard to think bad with a dopamine burst. Tina knows she can't overuse it, else it'd lose it's effect; that's just basic chemistry. However, she felt that was the perfect time.
"I guess it's okay once in a while." She quietly admits, grabbing another cookie. Tina felt like cheering; one win for team baby! Now she just had to get through the film. They sat on the couch (with Leah sitting a noticeable distance away, to Tina's dismay) with the plate of cookies placed on the living room coffee table. As the movie started, Tina thought through what to do next. Now, while Leah's invested in the film, is the perfect time to implement a more noticeable change in behavior, possibly even with how she engages with the film. There were numerous triggers she could use, but she decided to go with...
