Brett was now happier - much happier - than when he he had been a human. Of course, he had no more access to the perks of being human like the Internet, fast food, food to order, movies and other sweet things of that sort. Then again, living in a jungle, he had no need to pay rent, think about bank accounts, jobs, doing groceries and other such hassle. He could just nest wherever he wanted and not worry about a sophisticated roof over his head. Yes, no more burgers or pizzas or ice cream, but on the other hand he escaped the overdoses of sugar, grease and all the fun diseases liked to obesity. Quite the contrary, he now possessed a healthy diet of nuts, fruits, leaves, roots and insects for an extra intake of protein. He searched for food most of the day, meaning he got the decent amount of exercise. That saved up on any sort of gym membership. The jungle was warm and plentiful. Its inherent beauty was now lost on Brett but he felt its comfort for his new mind and body. There was space and that he required for his direct survival. And what more could he demand? The notion of the Jungle King now escaped him to, but the deity was happy to have a powerful yet calm animal in his domain. And Brett made a much better gorilla than a man. He was far away from petty human concerns, enjoying a much more authentic life. All the complexities of human life was just too heavy and ridiculous after a while. The Jungle King was certain that if he could have, Brett would have thanked him. Or maybe not. The Jungle King did not really care. He felt Brett made a fine gorilla and that was enough for him. He thought the arrogant human would be happier thanks to his act - indeed an act of kindness! - and it was more than enough of a justification for him. He knew that as a social animal still - humans are such too - Brett might wish for a friend or a mate in time. If Brett was a good gorilla, the Jungle King would grant his primal wish. Brett was a proud happy gorilla but his sexual drive would felt itself known sooner or later. And a god was generous to its subjects. He'd make no exception for the former annoying explorer.
