Life Without

added 7 months ago BM O

Jenny needed to go home, or at least let her know where she was. Jeff decided it was time to bring her back into reality. He opened her page and ran the restore function. Her clothes seemed to inflate. Jeff took special note that her soiled panties were sliding up her legs as she reformed before his very eyes.

“Jenny you’re back.”

“I was gone? What the heck, how did so much time pass.”

“I used this DELETE PACKAGE. You’ve been missing from reality for almost an hour now. Speaking of, you should really call your mom before she starts wondering where you are.”

“No way it worked, I just lost track of time.”

“Well, while you were gone, I left a bit of a surprise in your panties. Go ahead and see for yourself.”

Jenny reached into her panties and felt his sludge. She giggled. “Wow, this thing is for real. I thought I just took a crazy nap.”

“Crazy? Is that really how it feels to not exist?”

“It was amazing, like sleeping on a cloud. It was as if all of time and life and the whole world was far away, and nothing mattered at all. Jeff, that was the greatest experience of my life.”

“Wow.”

“Do you think we could do that again, but longer this time?”

“Ok, how long did you have in mind?”

“I don’t know,” Jenny murmured, “permanent… I guess.”

“Permanent!? Wouldn’t that be the same as killing you?” Jeff was completely vexed, “Jenny if you’re feeling depressed, we should talk to a professional, especially before we do something like this. If you are gone… Jenny, people will miss you. I will miss you.”

“Look right there, REALITY ALTERATION,” Jenny pointed to the middle of the screen “It’s one of the options on the package. With that, no one should remember me, not even you. You can’t call it killing someone if they never even existed.”

“Jenny, it’s not about if you’ll be missed by every one else. I will miss you. And if I erase my own memory, all sorts of implications open up.”

“Then set a timer, for you and me.” Jenny told him, “In one month, if you still miss me, you can bring me back. If you don’t then erase me from your memory too.”

“…”

“You're still not convinced. Fine, if at any point in the next month, it becomes impossible to live without me, then bring me back.”
“…”

“Jeff, please, this is a blank cheque to do anything you want for a month without me stopping you,”

“Fiiiine, one month and then you’re back.”

“Deal!” Jenny cheered as Jeff reluctantly typed the changes into the Chronivac.

“Well Jeff, see you lat…” That was the last thing Jeff heard before the air filled the void where she was standing. This time, not even her clothes were left behind. Jeff leaned back in his chair and considered what he just did.

Jenny’s whole history was wiped from the world. Jeff pulled out his phone only to find his wallpaper, and every other picture of Jenny was missing. She really was completely gone. Jeff knew, His memory was the only evidence she ever even existed. That, and the timer on the Chronivac counting down thirty days.

‘One month.’ Jeff thought, ‘guess I should see what life is like without Jenny.’
