I have to find Josh. But what if he's a donkey? Maybe I can help him. Maybe if we get away from this place ... . Jesse looked down at his body. Despite the loose fit of her current attire, he could still see his feminine assets under the shirt. Jesse wondered if he should really call himself a he anymore. I guess I'm technically a she now. If we get away, hopefully this will all wear off. If not, then ... I don't want to think about that.
Jesse ran out into the morning light. It was warm outside. Jesse needed a few minutes for his ... her eyes to get used to the light. a breeze blew her hair all over the place. She grabbed a lock of it, the blond color only reminding her of her situation.
Dammit anyway, what was I thinking? Everything for free they said. Do whatever you want and get away with it they said. They never said anything about becoming this or...
A loud braying interrupted her thoughts. Whatever ... whoever was making the terrible sound was close. Jesse looked back and forth. If someone knew that there was a donkey around then they'd be coming for it. I can pose as security, maybe get us out of here. The braying grew louder and Jesse ran toward it. She saw a stable where a group of four men were leading four donkeys. One of the men saw Jesse and ran up to her.
"I've never seen you around here," the man started. Jesse reached for the prod. "You must be new. Why don't you escort these new ... recruits. Be careful, they're rather freaked out."
Jesse looked at the man. His voice was calm and professional. How can he be so calm about this? These are ... were human beings.
"Everything all right? I take it you haven't done this before."
No, I haven't driven some innocent guy into donkey hood. Okay Jesse calm down. He's looking right at me, I have to stay calm. I can get out of this. Even if I don't change back, I'm still human; I can get used to be a woman.
"Yes, this iz my first day," Jesse said. That accent is annoying. Maybe if I concentrate.... "They didn't have a uniform that fit so I had to take this one."
The man looked at her oddly. Does he believe me? "That's okay, we can get you one that does. It might be a bit more revealing, which will only hasten all these idiots ... conversion." Jesse was about to walk off when the man called to her. "By the way, I didn't get your name."
What's a good name ... oh yeah." Yvette, my name iz Yvette." Her accent was still there but at least now she could cover it. Okay Jesse, for now, you're Yvette. Only Josh needs to know the truth.
The man nodded and walked with Yvette toward the donkeys. Yvette only needed a glance to learn that they were all male. With this place however, that meant nothing. Any or all of them could easily have been women. All four donkeys seemed panicked understandable considering. But which one is Josh?. Unfortunately, all four of them also stank.
"Gentlemen, this is Yvette, it's her first day. Why don't we show them how we ... ease our new recruits to donkey hood?"
Another man approached Yvette. This guy was a bit taller then her. From the look on his face, he seemed to enjoy this work. "Well, we take them to a larger stall. Right now, their human minds are still largely intact. We need them to embrace their new existence." The man then reached toward Yvette's ear and whispered. "A few minutes with a Jenny will change all of that. They say once you go that way, there's no going back if you know what I mean."
A lump formed in Yvette's throat. No, Josh woulden't do that, he's better then that. We're going to escape!. Yvette did her best to calm her stomach as she nodded. The man leaned back and looked at the donkeys.
"We usually take one each. Which one would you like?" the man asked.
"We really let them ... you know with each other? You're Joshing me!" Yvette said. She hoped Josh, (if one of these donkeys were indeed him) would respond. One of the donkeys, one with gray fur looked right at Yvette and brayed as his tail swished back and forth. "I think I'll go with that one."
The man that had whispered in Yvette's ear playfully elbowed her and laughed. "I think he likes you. Better be careful he doesen't make a jenny out of you." Yvette looked at the man, whose expression sobered. "Seriously."
Yvette nodded. This was her chance to get Josh out of there.
