As things were moved out or donated, the two lamps were amongst the items given away. Two lamps, two genies. And they got separated. Not that the genies wished to stay together or converse or hang out, at any rate. And the first genie - the female genie - was left on the streets in a cardboard. She just patiently waited. Genies were good at that, of course. She lounged around and flipped through endless channels, happy to just relax and do whatever she wanted. Well, she DID think a little about Damon and how he was faring in his new life as a genie. Did he enjoy himself? Or was he bored to tears already? His lamp had all the luxuries he could ever dream of so not having any company should not get him TOO depressed. He'd get used to it. And after all, it HAD been his wish. Too bad if he regretted it now or thought he had been dumb. And being a genie wasn't all that bad, as long as solitude was no problem to you. Not that he had a choice now... Had his lamp fell into the hands of someone? Had he found a master by now? Was he going to be a good genie or a wicked one? All genies tended to become quite wicked over time, fed up by the same old wishes of idiotic mortals.
Meanwhile, the lamp was picked up by a jock boyfriend in high school trying to please his popular girlfriend. She was a mean girl, a cheerleader and though the boy tried through his lies to pass the lamp for an expensive antique that had cost a lot, the girl found the item dusty and grimy. As soon as the boyfriend was away, she pressed a finger to the lamp, frowned at the dust and with disgust threw it with a flourish into the waste basket. It had been enough though. The genie came out in a puff of smoke. She looked around. Mmmmh... The room was typical of that of a girl with a high esteem of herself, with lots of pictures of herself and very little books. Self-tanning and make-up attires by the dozens, though. A girl who looked at the genie with fright and a shout of horror but that nevertheless took the time to stare at her boobs and curves with a clear hint of jealousy. The genie smiled inwardly. Oh, she knew where this would go. The wishes of this girl would concern looks for certain. Well, a bit of humility would do her a world of good. And it would be fun too.
"Hello, mistress," she said with false pleasant tones. "I am out thanks to you. So three wishes are your reward. What shall those be?"
