Tatiana, looked around the now nearly empty zoo, before tapping Selena on the corner. The other girl was starring at the hairbrush, seemingly mesmerized. She jumped and shook out of her stupor at Tatiana's touch.
"Sorry, it's just, I've been waiting for this for years." Selena remarked. Tatiana gave her a reassuring smile. They walked together to the parking lot, and were about to step into the car.
"Selena! Oh my gosh is that you?!"
A female voice, confident and high pitched, rang out across the lot. Selena looked around in confusion until she saw a familiar brown haired girl running toward her. Her face lit up. "Marcy!"
"Hey!" Marcy replied as they rushed into a tight embrace. Tatiana raised an eyebrow, but waited patiently for the girls to finish.
"I didn't know you were in town! How are you?" Selena asked when they finally broke the hug.
Marcella was about 5'7, with light brown hair and sparkling blue eyes. She wore a casual dark green dress with a floral pattern, a jean jacket, and a pair of tennis shoes. "I'm fantastic!" the girls excitedly began to catch up. As they did so, Selena let the hairbrush fall to her side, still holding it with one hand. It shimmered despite the cloudy sky. Eventually, Marcy took notice.
"What is that?" The girl asked, eyes wide and curious.
"Oh, this is a trinket I picked up at the old antique store." Selena replied casually.
"Can I see it?" Marcy asked.
"Sure!" Selena handed it over without thinking.
Marcy held it for a moment, running one finger along the side. "It's beautiful..." She almost sounded entranced. "Thanks!" Selena started, "I've been trying to..." The girl trailed off as Marcy suddenly brought the brush to her hairline and gave her wavy hair a generous brushing.
Selena's mouth fell open. She turned to look at Tatiana. The vampire girl looked just as flabbergasted. After a few seconds, Marcy looked up at them. She blushed self-consciously.
"Sorry, I've been needing to fix my hair since this morning. How do I look?" She grinned excitedly. For just a moment, her body seemed to give off a soft, silvery glow, and her canines suddenly looked much sharper than they had just moments ago. The other girls just stared.
"That good, huh?" Marcy commented sarcastically, oblivious to the effects of the hairbrush. She started to say something else when her phone went off suddenly. She pulled it from her pocket and looked at it. "Oh Crap! I gotta go!" She hurriedly gave Selena the brush before kissing her on the cheek, and then ran back across the parking lot. "Good to see you!" She called out as she disappeared from view.
Tatiana broke the silence. "Selena...?"
Selena met her friend's eyes, looking extremely nervous. "Uh, does the brush maybe have an antidote?"
Tatiana shrugged.
