After the mall trip Connie decided to take their dog Maddie for a walk, she was halfway through their usual walking route when she looked across the street and saw her old self. A look of shock crossed her face, she wanted to go over there but an overwhelming sense of anxiety hit her, making her look away, but she couldn't stop glancing over there. She should be upset, even disturbed but it was too surreal seeing herself across the street while standing there. After a few minutes she saw herself get some paper out of her messenger bag and write something, she was looking away when she heard her old voice from across the street shout out.
“OH GOLLY! A NOTE FOR A FRIEND SOMEWHERE! IN THIS BUSH!” Connie snorted, “I HOPE THAT NO ONE ELSE TAKES IT! THE NOTE! IN THIS BUSH!” Connie found herself chuckling, after she felt the anxiety leave and she looked to see if they were gone, she rushed across the street, and pulled the note from the bush. She decided to read it after she got home, so she was sitting down, she had the feeling that something in this was going to be shocking. She finished her walk, her head spinning as she thought about the other person that now had her body, was it this boy? Was he okay? How did this happen? Maybe he knew, she'd find out soon enough.
She got home and let Maddie loose in the backyard, then sat down with a drink to read the note. Her hands shaking she gingerly opened it fearing that something terrible was in here. She read it aloud.
“Hello Mrs. Smith, my name is Kyle Perkins...” Connie paused, wasn't that the kid Jen was messing with? “And I'm afraid that we've been cursed, Jen was involved,” Connie hit the table, she knew that Jen knew something. “I can explain everything, but we can't talk in person, it's part of the curse, if I'm right, we can talk through email, try and send me one, and we can even try talking through a chat server I know.”
Connie sat there, seething, “I'm going to fucking kill that girl.” Connie hissed. “FUCK! I KNEW IT WAS HER!” Connie panted, after a few minutes she got herself together. “No Connie, talk to Kyle, let's figure this out. Pretend you don't know anything.” Connie calmed herself down. “Two can play this game you little bitch, well three, with Mr. Perkins.”
Connie went about the rest of her day, cleaning the house and getting dinner ready, she figured out how to act around Jen, and when she got home she hammed it up, trying to seem anxious and upset. Jen seemed to buy it, even if there was something going on with her, she couldn't hid all of her body language, and mother always knows when you did something. Donnie got home and Connie treated him like she usually would, although acting tired but happy so see him.
There were a few awkward moments, but overall, Don seemed to still be in love with her just like before, even if her body was much younger and male. Connie started to enjoy exploring her new reality, not that it had changed by much, she was just physically different now. That night, they slept together, Don cuddling her as he usually would, and wondered if Kyle was doing well, after all she was doing okay, but he was just a kid who became a woman that morning.
