When you woke, it took a few moments to ralise you were in a hospital bed. A monitor was beeping. You looked around. You were in a room by yourself. What had happened? Had you been in a car accident?
Then memories flooded back of wearing a costume that made you look like a pregnant woman. Being stuck in that costume and then attending the frat party. Then a nightmare about actually giving birth! Thank god it was a dream!
You tried to sit up and your whole body hurt. Clearly you had been in an accident of some kind. To your relief, it seemed you were not attached to any drips or any other medical equipent. You threw off the sheets then noticed they had put you in a garish pink hospital gown. But then you looked twice. You had breasts! You felt them with you hands. They were swollen and sore. It dawned on you that those memories were real! You were in hospital because you had just given birth!
There was a nurse call button by your bedside. You pressed it in a panic
................
It wasn't long before a nurse came into the room "It's good to see you are awake Mrs Doe. My name is Karen and I'm the duty midwife. You are at the Memorial hospital. Your little boy is in the nursery. If you feel up to it I will bring him in and we can give him a feed. Let me just monitor your vitals"
"What did you call me? That's not my name" you gasped. You voice was higher pitched than you expected.
The nurse looked at the clip board that she was holding. "Oh! Of course! Your down here as Jane Doe. How silly of me. We will have to get that fixed"
"How did I get here?" you asked, realising you sounded like a woman. Your hand went to your throat. Your Adam's apple seemed to be missing.
"I've only just come on duty but it says here you were bought in by ambulance at 1am. You were out to it, which explains why we have you down as Jane Doe. It's 7 am now. The girls have been keeping an eye on your boy in the nursery. He is doing well, but no doubt he would be getting hungry" The nurse put a blood pressure thingo on your arm. It was still your own male, muscular arm. She seemed saisfied then put a little clip on your finger. Taking a blood sample. "All seems good" she commented. "I will be back in a minute with your little boy. Do you have a name for him yet? I will also get your own details, I will just have to collect a new set of enrolment forms"
