I should get a drink.
I scoured Amanda’s apartment for some alcohol but I only found a quarter of a bottle of wine. I knew it was one of my favorites, but I was positive that I had never drank before in my previous life.
“Guess now is a good a time as any to start.” I said while pouring the bottle’s contents in a round glass. The shimmering purple liquid swirled in the glass as I tossed the empty bottle in the kitchen garbage.
Quickly drinking the entire cup, in the same way I would down a bottle of water after running a minute. I let out a belch that couldn’t be characteristic of my new existence. The alcohol had a slight burn to it, but it felt good. Really good.
Finishing that cup also made me realize that I hadn’t had any food in the entire day! I was starving. Glancing through the cabinets revealed nothing that sparked my interest, I was much more in the mood for something greasy. Maybe a burger or some pizza.
I sat down and reflexively pulled out my cellphone, unlocking it without even thinking about what the password was. I was hungry and needed to find somewhere to eat as soon as I could.
Scrolling through the options, I spotted a dive bar that also reported to have fantastic burgers to go with their drinks! I was sold, quickly punching in the directions I prepared to set off to fill the ever growing void in my stomach. As I stood up I realized one major issue. I was missing some pants, quickly I darted up the stairs and pulled a pair of exercise shorts out of my closet. Not caring that they weren’t matching with my sweater. I hesitated leaving for a moment, considering replacing my lost bra but decided against that as I was already starving.
One uneventful drive later found me inside a small and dingy bar, with booths and random junk lining the walls. I walked up to the hostess who gave one glance at my outfit and huffed.
“One I’m assuming?”
Ouch, but yeah. I didn’t care about company I just wanted food. The hostess picking up on this led me to the bar which already sat a number of strangers. I sat next to some random guy, not even paying attention as my eyes were glued onto the menu.
Moments after ordering a double bacon cheeseburger I received a complementary drink, some type of fruity slushy with a slight hint of alcohol hidden behind the citrus and salt rim. Dang, I should try to remember this place once I swap back. A guy could get used to this type of treatment. I knocked back the entire drink before my burger arrived.
Feeling a bit warm and slightly dizzy I asked the bartender for another one of those cold slushy drinks.
“Damn girl, you must be thirsty!” A voice beside me said.
“I’ll buy you another if you can keep me company tonight?” The man beside me winked and handed cash to the bartender.
Was this guy really offering me another free drink if I just hung out with him? My mind was starting to spin a bit.
WAIT, I’m a girl right now! He’s probably trying to get me to have sex with him. Luckily now that I’m onto him I can just lead him on for some more free drinks! My plan is flawless.
The booze kept coming, and eventually so did my burger. My first bite instantly caused me to gag, I was going to throw up. The world was spinning and I needed the bathroom now!
Stumbling off my bar stool I found myself supported by my new male friend. I learned his name was Matt as he led me to the bathroom. Matt was so helpful as I puked my guts out, keeping my long hair from getting covered in pre-owned alcohol.
Struggling out of the bathroom Matt told me I was in no state to drive, and I completely agree. Luckily he offered me a ride, but he gave my drunk self some options.
