In reality Jennifer had no place to run or hide. She thought about it for a while and lowered her hand telling Kyle that she was going to listen to him.
"...And for that, I'm going to treat you way nicer than I was planning to. Now come sit the dining table and let's go through this together." Kyle huffed pulling a kitchen chair and sitting like a high school freshman would. Legs full apart from each other.
Jennifer didn't know if he was doing it on purpose or out of a habit but she obliged and sat opposite to Kyle. She was listening to him as he asked where was her mother's belongings. Jennifer pointed to the living room and he went to pick-up them.
"Okay, so the bitch's name, Claudia Smith? Yikes. Couldn't come up with more pornstar sounding myself." Kyle said as he sat back down. "Okay. Listen. From now on if you're talking to me you refer me as either Kayla or Kay for short. I don't want people asking me question why you keep refering me with a boy's name. Got it?"
"Yes, Kayla." Jennifer sadly replied thinking that they have to live under the same roof for a long time.
"Now a first question, does your mother smoke?" Kayla asked as she rummaged the whole purse.
"Not that I know of?" Jennifer raise her head. "Why do you care?"
Kayla just gave her the stink eye, shook her head and continued placing every item Claudia had in her purse on to the dining table.
"Look. I'm stuck at your mother's body and I feel, I don't know, different? Like for some reason I feel this passive anger that I can't express and it's driving me mad! If I still were a man I would... I would shout at you very loudly! But like this I feel like that I can't because your mom's body is messing with my thinking." Kayla berated.
Jennifer saw this as an opportunity and took a mental note of it. If Kyle at some point would slip up it would be because of her mother's hormones. Jennifer came up with a devious plan and told Kayla that she was willing to work with her if she helped her true mother to get he body back.
"...you'll both be unable to talk to each other, ... , so that if you get the curse you can't swap her back. I remember you telling me this like moment ago. Also why do you think I want to change back to my body? Hmmm!?" Kayle poked at Jennifer. "I've already accepted that I'm your new mom, or in this case THE mom and I'm going to turn your life into a living hell like it or not. I have the curse in me and I do whatever I want. I don't need your help and I'm not going to help you. Capiche?"
Jennifer thought that Kayla was right. She had made it difficult for her to get them back together. She wouldn't have guessed Kyle wanting to take her mother's place in the first place. What was he planning anyway.
"So Kayla. How are you going to explain the sudden changes and new mannerisms to my dad? Wouldn't she notice them for sure?" Jennifer smiled.
"... Now everyone around both of you will treat you as if you haven't changed, that's what you said right?" Kayle reminded Jennfier.
"What do you mean?" Jennifer asked for clarification.
"I explain it so slow that you understand." Kayla said as she pointed herself with her index finger. "That means... that your daaaad... has always been with ME ever sense she met your mother. Duuuuhhh...."
Jennifer had to admit that Kyle was right on the money yet again. If Kayla did something 'Kyle-like' it had always been like that. That also meant that her new mother had always treated her like Kayla would had. Jennifer was quiet and let Kayla do her thing as she couldn't do anything to change this fact. She could only watch in distance as Kayla did what she pleased. Whatever that would be. Jennifer started to finally understand how much deep inside the pickle jar she was at.
