CYOTF (New)

Another Visitor For Circe

While Damon was getting used to being a frog, hopping and splashing, as well as coming to the realisation that escape was indeed impossible, Circe returned to her usual activities. She had a domain to manage, after all, and full of mythological beings alongside animals besides! She could not play with her new little pet frog all day long, no matter how sweet he looked. Perhaps when things had calmed down a little. Furthermore, making sure all her pets and "hosts" were secure, safe and happy - or rather those who deserved it or those that had received mental transformations - was solely one part of the job. Dealing justice within her grounds to intruders was another aspect of her duties as a sorceress. And she took this responsibility very, very seriously. And if transforming mortals was delightfully entertaining, as much as thinking as to what sort of creature to add to her castle, well, she could not do it as she pleased. Oh no! Circe had work ethics aplenty and in this field too. She knew how to reward good and innocent people, or let them leave with a kind gift. Circe prided herself in being the sort of sorceress that was like fairy that rewarded good people and punished the naughty. In part thanks to her, this trope had lived on within the tales spun by mortals. She could not transform people simply by following her fancy. Only the truly wicked wielders of magic did so. Circe was better than that as she crowed to any who would listen - and any who would see her in action.
And precisely at that moment, a blue tit flitted into the throne room in which she was reading a spell book. It settled upon the table and chirped hastily while hopping frantically. It WAS a cutie, a real sweet little thing. Formerly a mortal girl that had been dying to have the power to fly and live without care. She had a good heart and Circe had not even had to alter her mind in order to appreciate her new life amongst the trees and roofs. The blue tit informed her that there was a mortal that had reached the courtyard of the palace. The bird offered gathered details about this newcomer and Circe smiled. She was already thinking of what to do with this visitor, if ever her assumptions were correct. And they indeed often were, thanks to her long, long experience of life.
