If the only thing Liz's bar had changed was her orientation, Casey would have gone to be changed back as soon as the hormonal rush had worn off. One tends to be attached to the identity they already had after all. But as she embraced the happiness of making love to Maddie, even her identity had changed, and with it, her perspective. All remaining resistance to the bar's magic dropped, letting it change her further while channeling Maddie's own wishes.
As the lovers slept, the magic of the bar continued to rewrite Casey's past. The apartment rearranged itself to reflect it. What was originally just a platonic photo of the two now showed them holding hands and blushing. And more importantly, Casey's possessions in this new reality were now in Maddie's apartment. As of now, Casey had been living with Maddie all along.
Casey opened her eyes and smiled at Maddie. Her girlfriend. Her lover. She reminisced on how their relationship began. She could remember it so clearly.
Casey remembered coming out in highschool. Her parents weren't exactly happy about it, let alone supportive, but they tactfully decided not to touch the issue.
Casey met Maddie when she attended college. Maddie hadn't had the courage to come out yet, but Casey saw through her and was subtly supportive. With that support, Maddie came out only a few months after they had met. The day she did, Casey confessed her love to her, and Maddie gratefully accepted it. The two became girlfriends, with Casey being the butch and Maddie the femme. The two quickly became inseparable and had been living together for years.
Casey knew that this history she was remembering wasn't the original. She could still remember a life of being straight. She could remember it in detail. But it was indirect, as if she was recalling a historical text she was familiar with. As far as she was concerned, Casey the butch was the real her, Casey the feminine girl was just a fantasy.
After patting Maddie on the head, Casey got up, fully naked, and decided to admire herself in the mirror.
Casey looked in the mirror and basked in her butch glory. Her look was simultaneously something she had been for years, and at the same time, something new and refreshing. The Casey of this reality was a self-confessed narcissist. She found her own body attractive. That subtle curvature, those tight muscles...
"I am so lovely, if there was a second me, I would have made love to myself!" But you can't have everything. Reveling in her own appearance and making love to Maddie was good enough.
"I wouldn't mind there being two of you. If you really want to try something like that, we could invite one of your siblings, the next time we visit Liz's bar," said Maddie, getting up, "Liz's enchantments don't always result in incest, but if that's what you actually want, they will react accordingly."
Cassie chuckled at the idea.
"So it really was because of Liz that we are so happy right now," said Casey. Maddie affirmed it.
"An identical twin is something I would need to think about. But for now, we really should return to Liz's bar. I need to thank her. Not only is my new life so much better than my old one, but my old one never even happened. My life wasn't wasted being straight, dating rejects, and enduring heartbreaks. The two of us have been girlfriends all along!"
"I mean, I'm mildly annoyed that I wasn't informed in advance, but it's not like I would have believed it." said Casey. Casey suspected on some subconscious level that she had been manipulated for reasons more selfish than an unwillingness to believe in magic. She even wondered just how much her mind had been tampered with. But that too was drowned out by the happiness of her new life. Whether there was manipulation or mind control, whether this was real happiness, she decided not to question it.
Casey was now fully committed to her new orientation. She was happy, and she planned to remain a lesbian for the rest of her life.
