Matt landed on the stack of clothes. At first, he thought he had been lucky, touching no clothes whatsoever. But then he saw that he was sitting on a pair of socks. Frilly princess socks meant for a 9-year-old. And certainly not for a boy. Matt cursed, while Jessica and Jake burst out laughing and watched impatiently what would happen. The princess was Snow White, so before poor Matt could do anything, he was transformed. Most appropriately, his skin became incredibly pale, his lips reddened and his hair fell in long luscious curls which cascaded down his back. A pink frilly skirt and a deep blue top with an apple completed the look, along with leather purple sandals. Even for a nine-year-old, the look was a bit childish, but Matt HAD touched princess socks, after all. And speaking of apples, Matt was suddenly beset with an incredible urge to eat some. Yes, apple pie sounded so tempting right now... Yes, warm apple pie... Yum!... His deep blue eyes clouded as the idea of eating apples seized him utterly. Only the taunts of Jake and Jessica as they reached his ears brought him back to the present and snapped him out of his - dangerous - reverie.
"Stop it! Change me back!" he demanded in outrage.
"But you're so, so cute like that!" said Jake, completely entertained.
However, he stopped laughing as a rope slipped around Matt, tying him tightly. Incredibly, a creature, a troll or ogre, marched out of the shadows. He smiled with his crooked teeth at the three humans anfd grunted:
"I knew I smelled magic around. One of these pesky medallions. Pesky but useful. Useful to transform you humans."
"What... What do you want?" frowned Jake, his mocking smile gone for good.
"This," said the monster as he shoved harshly the young man to the ground, grabbing the medallion.
He then smirked wider.
"Now I can turn you all into sweet little human babes and sell you in the fay realm. All faes love human children to adopt. You'll all fetch a good price. I'll be rich and have many, many gold coins."
He roped Jessica and Jake in spite of their pitiful escape attempts and smiled as he glanced at the clothes spread around.
"One down, two to go," he grunted, satisfied. "Now, what appearance shall get you sold for the highest profit?..."
Jessica and Jake glanced at each other, horrified at what the awful monster about to sell them had in mind for him to make his sale even more profitable.
