As he slept, Mike began to shrink, just as he had when he turned into a toddler. But he wouldn't stop at toddler age. He had been thinking of himself as like a baby right now, and he was proving that true.
Mike's hair began to thin and get softer, his body became chubbier, and his baby teeth began to retract. He also got smaller. Luckily, his size stayed mostly the same, allowing for his clothes and diapers to still fit, though they were a bit loose on him. He slept through the changes, completely unaware as to what was happening to him.
In the morning, Jim and Stacey checked on their bundle of joy and were shocked to see a larger than average one-year-old baby in Mike's bed.
"Well, guess he's going to be fully breastfed now," Jim joked. "No more solid food for him until he grows up enough for it."
"Ugh, you're right," Stacey sighed as she picked Mike up. "Once I'm through the time I took off work, he'll either have to come with me or I'll pump."
"We'll get there when we get there," Jim said gently. He took Mike from Stacey. "I'll get him changed and then bring him to you for breakfast." He looked at the bed. "After church we'll have to buy him an actual crib. This isn't safe for him."
"Oh, and then his crib can be in our room," Stacey said. Jim nodded.
"That's a great idea. Go get dressed and get something to eat while I take care of the little guy."
Ten minutes later, Jim brought Mike into the kitchen where Stacey was finishing her breakfast. Mike was dressed in his new snazzy clothes, which thankfully still fit.
"You know, Mike always told me that he was a very large baby," Jim said as he handed Mike over. Stacey lifted her shirt and unclasped her nursing bra. Mike immediately latched on hungrily. "Apparently he was the biggest baby ever born in the hospital he was born in."
"Well, then I'm glad I didn't birth him," Stacey joked. "I'm just feeding him." Mike made a soft noise of happiness as he suckled down his breakfast. "How did he respond to getting even younger?"
