Jeff opens the front door, seeing Dylan sitting on the porch, laptop in hand. Jeff reaches out to grab it, pulling it from Dylan's grip. Jeff's fingers feel funny, and tight with pressure, and the laptop slips from his fingers.
"What the hell?" Jeff asks, looking at his hands, flowing like liquid, and he falls to the ground as his feet melt into his legs.
Jeff is freaking out, what was happening? His body was melting.
Suddenly, the odd feelings stop. Jeff's on the ground, facing Dylan. All the way on the ground. What the fuck? He tries to get up, and he can't move. Why can't he feel his body? Dylan must have used Chronivac on him.
"Dylan, what did you do to me?" Jeff asks, and he's looking up at Dylan for once. Dylan scoots forward until he is seated in front of Jeff, and Jeff doesn't like the look on his face. The kid has his 'I beat you' face on.
"It works!" Dylan gets up, and carries the laptop inside. Jeff tries to turn his head and watch, but even that is impossible. Is he paralyzed? But how could his head be perpendicular to the ground?
Suddenly he's rising in the air, unable to see what is moving him, but it must be Dylan. He is carried into the living room and set on the coffee table, facing the couch. He sees Dylan run up the stairs, obviously excited.
"Dylan, turn me back!"
Dylan comes back down carrying a big mirror, the table mirror from his parents' bedroom. He sets it off to Jeff's right side, angled so Jeff can clearly see his face. He screams in horror!
Dylan has turned him into a bodyless head!
"Oh god, Dylan, turn me back, turn me back, or I'll kill you when I get my body back!"
"Calm down," Dylan says, obviously annoyed, but what right does he have to be annoyed? Jeff doesn't have a body!
"How can I calm down?"
Dylan rolls his eyes. "I can't leave you like this, obviously. Think about it, genius. You think no one will notice you're missing a body?"
"Huh," Jeff says. "Good point." Jeff doesn't want to be a disembodied head, but he tries to calm his nerves, telling himself it's not permanent, his life isn't over. He breathes easier. He'd been in full on panic mode.
Jeff looks at himself in the mirror again. His head is sitting on a wooden stand, like the base of a trophy, with a name plate reading 'Jeff Williams'. It's humiliating. Dylan has gone outside, and in the mirror Jeff sees Dylan carrying his clothes, which he dumps in a pile next to the couch.
Dylan sits on the couch in front of Dylan and gets the laptop out. "'Disembodied Head Preset'", he reads out loud, "'Turns subject into a head without a body. Breathing, blood flow, and all other systems work correctly. Food is metabolized as usual, but the waste removal functions are handled automatically. Subject can remain alive indefinitely with regular consumption of calories and water.'"
"Dylan, just click the Undo button," says Jeff.
"Why?" asks Dylan, dismissively. "Oh, there's a timer. Save and... done. Looks like you're all mine for the weekend." Dylan looks Jeff in the eyes and grins wickedly.
