Her name was Eve.
Good name. Eve. A fitting name that popped inside her head. Eve turned back to her sister whole was launching herself on top of Eve. Faith looked different. She had gone from emotionless and motionless being to a beast that was hungry. The animalistic instinct had taken over Faith's mind and she was intensely staring at Eve. Faith winced and suddenly was leaking all over the place like an untrained puppy dog. Eve back away from the watery surprise as Faith kept looking her as if they've just met. The long haired Faith looked like a wolf girl or weredog than a human. Making weird growls and moans as it twitched on the wooden floor like an animal working purely on it's feelings.
Eve having no idea what had caused this looked at Faith but as they couldn't communicate with each other it was hard to know for sure. An odd feeling triggered inside her as she thought about it. A sudden burning sensation that she could feel all over her body. Something wasn't right. Eve's own body had mind of it's own suddenly. Somehow, after some struggling, she had better control over the feeling and was able to extinguish it. Eve had avoided doing the same mistake as her sister did, for now. Eve's mental fortitude was strong and she was able to view the world with new pair of eyes. Faith begun to rub her head on Eve's leg as if she wanted something. Lack of verbal communication made it difficult but Eve guess she must have be hungry. She walked to the small fridge and opened it.
It was empty.
Same with the drawers next to it. Empty as they can be except for plastic cutlery. The whole house looked recently abandoned. Which raised even more questions. Who lived here before Eve and her sister? Were they related? A strange question to ask from a girl who just became aware of her own situation. Eve run to the front door and saw that there were no houses nearby them. Lot's of fields, trees and some small buildings in the distance. It felt strange. It was like they were in the middle of nowhere. How? How did they get here and why the house was empty? Eve went to the bathroom to check if toilet was running but found no toilet what-so-ever. The kitchen sink then. Eve hopped next to the kitchen sink to open the faucet. Nothing. No water came out there either. Only an airy sound that was slowly dying.
Eve begun to think how they were going to live if there was no food or water in the house. She went outside while Faith followed behind her. She spotted a barrel which luckily had water inside it as she approached it. There was enough rain water for both of them. Next was food. Eve had to find it somewhere and the closest barn seemed to be so far that it could have taken a day by foot. The very small brown dot in the horizon. If it even was a house. Using a laddle from the house Eve drank the fresh rain water from the barrel. She offered the same water to her sister to keep them both hydrated.
Eve looked her surroundings and saw an outhouse, barn and the small cottage which they came from. Behind the cottage was a large forest and opposite to it was the field she looked just a moment ago. She had no idea what was there and if there were people willing to spare spare food for them. Eve knew that she had go alone as her sister would get too tired from all the walking. It was weird seeing someone so adamantly walking on all fours even if she could stand up. Or was she the one acting strange here? Who knows.
