Katie tried to push her away, alarmed by how dog like Tiff was acting, "If we go out and play for a while do you think you'll calm down some?"
"Oh thank you!" Tiff bounded about the kitchen like a happy puppy at this statement. Vaguely she could remember that she wasn't always part dog, but for some reason it didn't matter to her. She was simply ecstatic at the idea of being able to go outside and run around. "Can we play fetch?"
The reason for her asking this was because on a shelf by the door to the backyard she spied what looked like a frisbee. It was a bright orange disk with silver stripes and green and red spots, a colorful and attention getting toy. Reaching up to get it she handed it to Katie before opening the door and running out into the yard.
Katie looked the disk over, noting that it seemed slightly heavier than an ordinary plastic frisbee, but thought nothing of it. Taking the few steps out the door carefully due to her swollen belly she followed Tiff and tossed the frisbee. Her ears weren't good enough for her to hear the low hum it emitted as it sailed through the air and though Tiff could have heard it, she was too focused on catching the disk.
Jumping up Tiff caught it and dashed back over to Katie, "Throw it again! Throw it again!"
Katie obliged, not realizing the true nature of the object she was throwing through the air.
They repeated their actions of catching and throwing several times, not realizing that with each toss the disk made subtle alterations to reality itself. Eventually Katie grew tired and called the game to a stop, "Sorry Tiff, but if we want to keep looking through the house we'd best get to it now. Soon I'm going to need to get back home and use a breast pump, not to mention my back is starting to hurt a bit."
Panting happily Tiff trotted over, the collar around her neck jingling slightly, "That's fine. I'm just glad to have a friend like you who will play fetch with me and not make fun of me."
This made Katie laugh, "Look at me, do you think I have any right to make fun of you? I mean how many girls do you know of who look pregnant and have been lactating since they went through puberty?"
"Maybe that's why we're such good friends," Tiff wagged her tail as Katie gave her a pat on the back of her dog body.
Together they went back into the house to see if there was anything of interest they could find.
Reality had been changed so that the pair had always been as they were.
