Margaret quickly went back home as Janet quickly called the police to report that Dan had been found safe wandering in the woods after apparently falling from a tree and getting amnesia. The police were happy to hear it, getting a medic to check him and get his statement. Dan seemed to be perfectly fine, saying that he woke up on a bench and didn't remember how he got there.
After the police left, Janice cast a few spells on Kats sanctum to find out how long he was in there. Janice gasped as tears streamed down her face, "S-So Kat put him in a 1 hour : 100 Year dilation but he accelerated it to 1 hour : 750 Years! He was trapped in there for 5,725 years!" She calmed herself and wiped the tears from her eyes.
Janice went upstairs to Dan's room, knocking on his door before entering. Dan was sitting on his bed looking confused, "I've been told that I was missing for a night, but why does it feel like forever?"
Janice sighed, she really didn't want to do this, but her mom was right, Dan should know the truth about what happened.
Janice sat down at his computer desk briefly explained the concept of magic, and that all women in the family are witches. She breathed a sigh of relief that Dan wasn't freaking out before she started explaining what happened.
"Kat cast a spell on you, turning you into a genie," she said. "Your soul was pulled from your body and trapped in a jar in a space that moves slower than real time. You were trapped there for 5,725 years and learnt a lot of magic, that's why you feel like forever has passed."
Dan looked at her wide eyed, "So why is it I look the same?" he asked.
Janice sat beside him and gave him a hug. "Because mom used two wishes to make you mortal again, and restore your soul to your body. Though because of the changes you have undergone, your grandmother and I belive you have the powers of a powerful genie."
Dan hugged his mother back, "Thank you for saving me," he said.
Janice smiled, "You're welcome." She then explained to Dan that she and grandmother were going to bind Kat's magic so she wouldn't try and harm anyone else in the family. She also said that they will need to make her forget she was ever a witch. Dan nodded in understanding, though he didn't like it.
