With the first seven days of January over, everyone was looking forward to new beginnings. However, the presidential inauguration was not one of those since the hypocrite-in-chief was retaking office.
Fortunately, there was plenty of other things to hold the attention of Animalia and its colonies.

One thing, undeniably, was the Winter Weight Watcher's party at Ao Guang Island. While it was something to see overweight people (both men and women) become muscular (and curvy) Animalians, it was something else to see them using it. What was undeniably the most popular of the party were the sporting events, with most comments focusing on the bouncing boobs and butts.
While the Chinese, Korean, and Japanese authorities did have the data on how the Animalia Virus converted fat to muscle (with one Japanese animator creating an animation of a muscle cell using the Animalia virus as a "straw" to "drink" a fat cell and grow larger, which a Japanese microbiologist called an "accurate but scientifically crude interpretation of what happens"), China and Korea (North Korea, especially) had their own problems to deal with, for now.

There was also the fallout from Chrissy and Marcella's little 'oopsie', which was mostly focused online. This time, however, it was the liberals making the most noise about it, instead of the conservatives. Fortunately, most of the information was still 'classified pending investigation' so there wasn't too much getting out so far. In fact, one person's livestream of the brouhaha between the two of them got picked up by one internet commentator who added sports commentary to the fight, as if he was commenting on world championship boxing.

An indirect result of current events was the number of people from Los Angeles being evacuated due to the current wildfires. Fortunately, there was some room in San Francisco's Animalia District, and in Animalia itself, for evacuees to stay for a little while. However, there were a few victims of the fires that were "damaged" enough to require conversion, but that was to be expected.
