There are quite a few Animalians who choose to migrate during the winter. It's not strictly necessary as food is quite sustainable for them through the winter and staying indoors keeps them from getting too cold, especially with places like the Brumation House to go to. But some Animalians just choose to get away from the ice and snow and go to warmer climes, at least during the worst of midwinter.
Rock the Bald Bull wasn't particularly adverse to spending wintertime in Animalia. Though he was a little more sensitive to the cold winds since his leukemia had prevented him from growing fur like the other bulls. While he could just bundle up while outside, there's a lot he wouldn't be able to enjoy casually. For instance, going to the tanning salon can get rather expensive and it was far too cold outside to even attempt tanning, even if the sun wasn't covered by clouds.
As such, Rock and Mable tended to spend their winters in one of Animalia's more tropical colonies. Mieni Atoll had been a reliable place to go to in previous years, but a dose of variety was in order. So this winter, they were going to the new colony of Ao Guang Island. In fact, Rock was being specifically requested there. Apparently, there were Asian circles who found his hairless state to be very interesting for reasons that Rock wasn't sure he wanted to know all about. Still, it was good a reason as any to plan their vacation there. What they didn't expect was the reception waiting for them.
==========
"Rock, shouldn't we check into the hotel first?" asked Mable as she and Rock walked along the beach, "We can enjoy the beach later."
"It's not just a stroll," said Rock, "We're scouting."
"Scouting? For what?" asked Mable.
"The best place to focus on tanning," said Rock, "We want a place that won't get too many shadows and that's far away enough from the other beach goers to not get constantly disrupted."
"And allow for most skin exposure in privacy?" asked Mable.
"Well, there are indoor salons for that kind of coverage," said Rock.
However, as they walked, they kept drawing more attention. Particularly Rock, who stood out with his hairless body, large muscles, and prominent tattoos. In fact, there were quite a few bikini girls who were starting to follow them. It wasn't long before a small throng openly approached them. The girls kept talking excitedly, a lot of it being in Japanese with some Chinese and Korean added in. One thing that they did pick up was 'Mr. Minotaur'.
"Why are they calling you that?" asked Mable, a little suspiciously.
"Well, it's not a name I gave myself," said Rock, "But I'm actually closer to the original Minotaur than other Animalians. You know he was just depicted as a man with a bull's head rather than the anthro bulls everyone thinks of nowadays."
"Maybe, but they're getting a little too familiar," said Mable.
"Hey, I'm not encouraging them," said Rock, backing up.
"Well, let's discourage them a bit," said Mable before letting out a loud bovine bellow. That cause a few girls to shriek and run away. Though plenty more still stayed. "Ok, time for something more hand's on," said Mable. Look on her phone's translation app, she had it ask, "Oyogeru hito wa nan-ri imasu ka?" When a few girls raised their hand, Mable grabbed the heaviest among them. The girl squealed as she was suddenly lifted above Mable's head who took several strides down to the water's edge before tossing her into the surf. Mable walked back, dusting off her hands, "That should do it."
"Until they start asking for their turn," said Rock. Indeed, there were a few girls who were excitedly waving their hands now.
Mable groaned and said, "Not exactly sending a message through, am I?"
"It's just a bit of beach fun," said Rock, "I can toss a few..." Mable glared at him. "If you're ok with it. Not that I'd ever think about trading you over anyone."
"Good answer," said Mable.
