The reaction from Yvonne was unexpected. She turned to the person who looked like her son and glared at him “You will not be dinking anybody on your bike! I will see Allisa home safely while you do your chores”
Trent and Allisa managed to exchange puzzled looks. Clearly Allisa had not expected such a reaction either. Was it because the real Allisa had described Natalie as hot? Trent had been embarrassed by that comment of Allisa’s. When she was himself, she wasn’t so forthright about his/her attractions. It was true, Natalie was hot, undoubtedly the best looking girl in Trent’s grade but Mom didn’t need to know that.
“Finish your drink Allisa then get in my car and I will drive you home” Yvonne then left the room, going down to her own bedroom.
Once she was gone Allisa asked quietly. “Is she always so cranky?”
“No. She is usually pretty cool. I think your comment about Natalie set her off”
“More likely she wasn’t impressed by the way you are sitting! You need to learn a bit of modesty when wearing a short skirt. Legs together or crossed”
Once more Trent found herself blushing as she realised she indeed was sitting with her legs wide apart and her skirt had ridden up. Mom would have got a very good view of the white panties Trent was now wearing. She pushed her knees together and tried to make the skirt cover her thighs.
“That’s better” said Allisa, apparently approving.
“So what do we do now?”
“Accept the ride and go home”
“But I don’t know how to be you”
“Don’t worry it will come naturally and my family isn’t expecting me to be myself. They will make you welcome. I will find a reason to come around tomorrow morning”
Just then they heard a toilet flushing and shortly afterwards Yvonne returned. She had changed her outfit. In a terse tone she said to Trent (in Allisa’s body) “Let’s go”
Reluctantly Trent followed Yvonne outside and found herself seated in the rear of the car. She gave Allisa a wave as the car backed out hoping that he would find an excuse to call around in the morning.
The short trip was largely conducted in silence. Trent tried to make small talk with Mom by asking “Were you and my Mom friends at school?”
The answer she got was a terse “No!” And Yvonne did not deign to elaborate further.
Fortunately Yvonne seemed to know where Allisa lived and didn’t ask for directions. Trent sat in silence, contemplating her immediate future. Was she really going to a girl for the next six weeks? The thought was scary but also exciting. How would she find living as Allisa? How would she get on with Allisa’s family?
Trent was jolted out of her ponderings by the car stopping and Mom saying “You can walk from here”
Trent looked out to see the car had stopped on the scurb at the end of a driveway. She could vaguely see a white house hidden behind some trees. This was apparently home for the summer break. She unbuckled, collected Allisa’s school bag and opened the door “Thanks for the lift”
Trent got no reply from her mother other than a “Shut the door please”. She did so and the car drove off, Trent’s waving getting no acknowledgment. Eventually the car was gone and Trent began the walk to her new house.
