After a bit of wandering, you find the kitchen just off the rear of the entrance hall and see that it is filled with all sorts of cookware. Cupboards are lined with spices and the pantry is stocked with just about everything you can think of; fruits, vegetables, breads, cakes, sweets, cured meats, and smoked fish. There are bottles of what look like juices, fresh milk, and even a selection of beers and wines.
Almost all of it looks tasty, and your stomach grumbles over each morsel your eyes pass over, but you hold back. Even in your hungry state you worry over the fact that so much delicious looking food, some of it clearly perishable, was sitting out in pristine condition was no coincidence. What changes would any of these foods bring?
Will the cheese turn you into a mouse perhaps? Or maybe something more bovine? You're certain the truffles in a jar will have you breathing through a snout if you eat enough of them. Something that looked suspiciously like dog treats sat on a higher shelf too. Next to that was a bunch of inkcap mushrooms, black with fuzzy white spots and smooth, equally white stalks. Opposite them was a very small cake that had "eat me" written in the frosting on top.
Your stomach is still sending you strong cravings for some food, and your watering mouth tells you that you can no longer fully stave off the hunger. You lick your lips, grit your teeth, and make a choice.
