While the most anticipated event in Animalia, the Year of the Snake celebration, there were a few things that had to come before that suddenly popped up.

One, understandably, was Marcella's trial. While it had been moved to Las Vegas, and was relatively low-key, it was still a media circus (just as Heather's was). Whether or not Marcella had pled guilty during her trial, she was still facing Animalia's four-punishment system and working off her debt at the Meat Market. Fortunately (for Marcella's parents, anyway), she was able to not be forced into stripping or dancing and would instead be focusing on waitressing and wiping down tables. Unfortunately, there were still those who simply aren't able to keep their hands to themselves, as both Chrissy and Marcella were chagrined to learn.
However, the most amusing result from this was the opposing lawyer with big political ambitions (whom the internet labeled as "Mr. Ed") being hilariously exposed and hit with an official "black mark" on his record. Because of this, it would be a while before anyone would trust him with their cases.
As a side effect of this, Steve (the unwitting 'monkey-in-the-middle' between Marcy and Chrissy) was still undecided on becoming an Animalian or not. Because of this, he decided to spend some time at the BARA House (though the house told right from the get-go not to force any choice on him), and was briefly stunned stupid, not just at the massive musculatures, but also the fact that the "indoor uniform" was a G-string/speedo combined with a male leather harness designed to accentuate one's muscles. While there was no hazing allowed, some still took pictures of his stunned expression.

Another thing that was still going on was Ao Guang Island's Winter Weight Watcher's party. While new snakes weren't allowed to compete in the Year of the Snake Competition, there were still plenty of other reptile conversions. This was also one of the funnier things covered by the Quasi-Raccoon Cuties, especially since there were two things that were completely accidental, yet completely hilarious.
First, one of the Quasi-Raccoon Cuties, during one of their interviews, got ensnared in one of the classic Japanese Pit Trap pranks, though there were plenty of sponge blocks to prevent her from getting too hurt, and she even continued her coverage in spite of the surprise.
Another was when another of the Cuties was doing an interview close to the beach and getting washed out by an incoming wave (which happens surprisingly often if videos on the internet are to be believed.
While everyone enjoyed the Ao Guang coverage, everyone was looking forward more to their coverage of the Year of the Snake celebrations.
