"A time device? That's crazy!"
Emily nodded. "I know, right? So, supposedly, they were testing it in class, and something went wrong. The machine malfunctioned, and...and Mr. Wilson was disintegrated."
Sarah's jaw dropped. "Disintegrated? What, like he just vanished?"
Emily nodded grimly. "Yeah. They never found any remains or anything. It was like he just ceased to exist. And the weirdest part is, Evan Parker was never heard from again either. Some people say he was so traumatized by what happened that he just left town and started over somewhere else."
Sarah shook her head, her mind reeling with the implications. "That's so wild. I had no idea anything like that had happened here."
Emily paused, a sly grin spreading across her face. "You know, I've always been fascinated by that story. And I have to admit, it's inspired me to do some experimenting of my own."
Sarah raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
Emily reached into her backpack and pulled out a small, intricately crafted device. It looked eerily similar to the time device Emily had just described.
Sarah's eyes went wide. "Is that...a time device?"
Emily nodded, a mischievous glint in her eye. "It is. And I think it's time we tested it out."
