It had taken years of preperation to construct and source the funding for her little project, but Dr Eliza was finally ready to begin her work, the tall woman barely able to contain the spring in her step as she crossed the courtyard and entered her facility. Located on a remote farm her facility looked like any other ordinary barn from the outside, but inside much of the interior had been converted into her lab.
At 37 years of age Dr Eliza was already an accomplished biochemist, her work more often than not having ties to the crimal underworld on the simple basis that they paid better and cared not for what methods she used in her experiments.
The first step after constructing her facility had been the acquisition of test subjects. Athletes, the crème de la crème of human physical capability, would serve as the genetic material she needed to begin work, their prime dna making them the perfect candidates for conversion.
She had studied them all, from sprinters to weightlifters, swimmers, gymnasts and body builders. Each offered a unique blend of genetic traits that when converted into animal form would result in the creation of new superior breeds that would outcompete the competition in everything from horse racing to the dairy industry.
Approaching the row of holding pens lining one wall of her lab Dr Eliza brushed aside her jet black hair as she studied the details of her newly aquired captives on a clipboard, their abductions courtesy of one of her main clients.
