“Kind of weird.” said Kim as she watched her coworker place a strange statue of a snake god and some kind of humanoid snake couple on a small display in an area of the reptile house themed to an ancient stone temple. “Kind of Egyptian looking doesn’t go with the whole jungle vibe.”
“Neither does half the enclosures.” countered Ron as he placed the statue in it’s spot. “Its some cheap thing someone found at a yard sale or something to add to the theming of this place. Doesn’t matter all that much.”
“True.” Kim confirmed as the two zookeepers looked around at all the enclosure containing most of the snakes that zoo had. This was the heart of the zoo’s reptile house and had many rare and very dangerous snakes from around the world. “I would bet only 10% of people will even notice it on the wall.”
“You think that many will?” countered Ron “I would say 1 in a 1000 will notice it, if that.”
“True.” Kim confirmed as she looked at her watch. “The gates will be opening in a few minutes, better get going.”
“Alright.” Confirmed Ron as the two of them headed off, neither of them knowing that the statue they had placed was magical and when the time was right it would open up and drag everyone nearby into a new world to become lamias themselves. It was only a matter of time until that happened, and it would happen soon.
