Marcus studied the phone and tried to decide what to do next. The sentence on the phone read “three good friends enjoying an evening at the karaoke bar.”
Jim was looking over his shoulder. “Hmmm. What should we change?”
“Oooh. What if we changed karaoke to something else?” suggested Evan.
“Like what?” asked Jim.
“Ummm. Well. What if we made it a totally different kind of bar. That might be fun. Karaoke is cool and all but like maybe a hiphop club or even a country bar.”
“A country bar!” said Marcus in a huff. “I can’t stand country music.”
“Oh sure,” responded Evan. “But it would be funny to see how much everything changes. Like what would Slim look like?” Slim was the bartender at the gay karaoke club. He was as his name suggested extremely thin. He had a neatly groomed mustache and dressed impeccably.
“Or Gavin! Imagine country Gavin!” Jim added, laughing. Gavin was the DJ in the main part of the club. An extremely cocky and cool black man with braids.
“That would be funny!” Marcus agreed. “But what if there’s something funnier?”
