Next morning Jennifer woke up feeling sick. The whole room smelled like fresh lit cigarette mixed with something sweet like a fresh oven bun. On her nightstand Jennifer had a vape with two weird looking self-made tobaccos that smelled weird. Underneath them was a paper sent from hospital explaining that due to smoking Jennifer had a miscarriage for her baby. Jennifer looked at her body and saw the flabby stomach and her one cup size grown breasts. It was a welcoming sign but something about the room felt wrong.
"I need to get some fresh air. The room stinks." Jennifer coughed as she opened the window.
Jennifer's stomach let out a rumble as she felt hungry. On her study desk she saw a big bag of potato chips and ate one of the slices. The salt from it hit Jennifer's tongue differently as she had to have another bite. She had never been fan of chips but something about them tasted different. The salt was addicting. Soon Jennifer noticed that the bag was empty. She had just eaten the whole bag of them. Her stomach kept making rumbling noises as it wasn't fully stuffed with those delicious potato chips.
Hunger for salty food wasn't the only problem she had. Jennifer felt that she had a headache and she suddenly felt dizzy. Jennifer stumbled and wobbled forward. The headache got worse and overpowered her feeling for salt. Jennifer remembered that there was painkillers in the bathroom and so Jennifer opened her room's door and saw the hallway looking more dirtier than usual. Like it had been swiped clean but it was dusty. Jennifer had no time to think as the headache got stronger and she had to find the painkillers. Jennifer went down the stairs to the single bathroom of the house and even with her best efforts. She couldn't find any.
"Mom! Where are all the painkillers!? Mom! Mom!?" Jennifer shouted from the bathroom.
Jennifer heard a loud snore coming from the living room and when she walked to the room. Jennifer saw her mother in deep sleep on the couch. She was wearing a green t-shirt with a logoo, beanie, light brown sweatpants and slippers while the TV was broadcasting the morning news.
"Mom, Why are you sleeping in here? Shouldn't you be preparing yourself to work? Mom? Mom! Say something! MOM!" Jennifer shouted at her mom who finally woke up.
Jennifer's mom blinked her eyes which looked mixture of pink and light red as her mother tried to concentrate on what she was seeing. It was like she had no idea where she was. Jennifer's mom spent a long time trying to see who she was in front of her until finally she realized that it was her daughter Jennifer. Jennifer looked at the table in front of her mother and saw a assortment of odd trinkets and stones. It looked like that as if her mother had setup a medieval shop in the living room based on the things Jennifer was able to see.
"Morning my little shining star of the cosmos. What's up?" Jennifer's mom asked as she put her hands behind her back in casual manner and exposed her womanly thick patches of hair.
"What's? Up? Nevermind. Mom. Where's our painkillers?" Jennifer asked.
"Painkillers, eh? Phew! Now when did you started to trust into those big pharmacies? Let the sheep use their medicine while we better folk use more natural ways to win over our bodily functions. Didn't I give you my natural medicine sticks to you yesterday or did you already use them? I have herbal tea if you really need those demons out of your brain." Jennifer's mother explained as she acted strangely.
"The heck you just said Mom? I have a headache. I don't need an exorcist. I need medicine." Jennifer explained to her mom.
"Then go outside and buy some. We don't use that kind of humbug in our household." Jennifer's mother laughed and started to fiddle with her smartphone that she grabbed from the living room table.
Jennifer stormed off the living room. Her mother wasn't helpful at all and the way she spoke to her felt weird. Jennifer went back to her room with her increasing throbbing getting worse. The stronger smell of tobacco in the living room must have made it even worse. Jennifer looked at her room and finally noticed that it looked more messier than it did yesterday. Jennifer spun her head around as her room looked the same but not quite.
